What does equality mean? If all beings are equal, is killing a fish equivalent to killing a person?

This refers to a realm. When you are in this state, all beings in your eyes are equal. From the perspective of self-nature, all beings are equal. This extreme metaphor is that heinous people and normal people are actually equal. Its self-nature is the same, the difference is that it is blinded by different degrees of learning dust and karma.

All beings deserve to be buddhas. However, most sentient beings have not become Buddhas, floating in the six divisions of the wheel of karma. Kill a fish, and the fish's self-nature is still in the dust. Killing a person is the same. Causally speaking, the crime of killing people is far greater than killing a fish. Because the human body is rare, only with a complete body can we practice Buddhism. A fish can only practice if it is reincarnated into a human body. But from the perspective of self-nature, there is no difference between fish and people.
