As a band coach in a primary school

I ask my students to hand in the exercise sheets signed by their parents, so that I can be sure that they have invested enough time. I have to laugh.

When a parent writes on a child's paper.

"Practice 17 minutes.

But it seems like a few hours later. Like hours.

As a band conductor in a primary school, in order to ensure that students devote enough time to practice, I ask them to hand in an exercise sheet signed by their parents. But once, a parent's signature amused me. The exercise list says, "I practiced for 17 minutes, but it seems to be a few hours."
