What good books have you read?
Today, I read a story in "Insects" and got to know a strange bug called "Scarab."
It is a kind of coprophagous insect with a small and exquisite body. Chubby, black and oily. The scarab looks like it is wearing a hat on its head, and it exudes a slight fragrance. The funniest thing is - its food is animal feces! After reading the book, I understood: It turns out that there are still many undigested residues in the feces of horses, cows, sheep and other animals. Scarabs make use of these residues, slowly absorbing the nutrients inside, until finally the nutrient particles are until digested.
And once the scarabs transport the dung balls into the cellar, they eat them day and night. And it continued to be excreted afterwards. The excrement is like a thin black line, like a shoemaker's thin wax rope! Haha, that’s fun!
The scarab is such an interesting bug! Although it deals with feces all day long, it has earned a reputation as the cleaner of the earth!
At the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, the French entomologist Fabre wrote a book called "Insects". Now this book has entered my bookshelf and has become a part of our home. After reading "Insects", I benefited a lot. My favorite is the one about scarabs.
The scarab "created" a dung ball and naturally had to transport it home. If you were a scarab, there were two roads in front of you: one was a dry ditch that was both labor-saving and safe, and the other was an insurmountable slope. Which one would you choose? Of course, walking along the bottom of the ditch, I thought so too! But the Scarab insists on trying to climb over the dangerous slope. If it loses its balance on the slope, all the efforts will be lost. Once, twice, ten times or twenty times, Scarab never gives up. When its own strength is not enough, it will ask its companions for help, and everyone works together to push the "behemoth" over the slope and back home.
If there were other insects around the scarab, they would definitely laugh at it: a flat road is right in front of you, but you choose to take that time-consuming and labor-intensive slope, how stupid! At first, I thought the scarab was stupid. I knew that there were tigers in the mountains, so I chose to go to the tiger mountains! But think about it on the other hand, the scarab never gives up because of other people's words. It always walks on the path it thinks is right. No matter what others say, or whether others laugh at it, it climbs ten or twenty times. The peak in front of it has failed countless times, but it is still strong and nothing can discourage it. It is its strength that makes me feel valuable. What is even more valuable is that it has self-awareness. When it knows that it is not good enough, it immediately asks for help from its companions and completes the task no matter what.
In life, we lack the determination and self-knowledge of the scarab. Determination allows you to have a goal and become a beacon for your voyage. No matter how great the difficulties are, you cannot bow your head. Self-knowledge allows you to correct yourself in time when you do something wrong, just like taking the wrong path in a maze, you have to go back quickly before it's too late.
Go your own way and let others tell you!
