Interview and competitive defense skills

Defense skills in interview competition

Defense plays an important role in the process of job competition. For example, in percentage, its score distribution is generally: 5 points for speech, 2 points for defense and 3 points for overall impression. Many job candidates performed very well in the speech stage, but their performance was not satisfactory in the interview defense. In fact, the defense can also be prepared in advance and improvised. If you master the tricks, you can win the initiative and show your style again.

Preparation before defense

To understand the purpose of defense in "test center", firstly, it is to test whether a person's response is agile, resourceful and coherent, and secondly, it is to test a person's breadth of knowledge, height of thinking level and depth of theoretical level. The most taboo situations in defense are: unable to answer, incoherent, stuttering, full of loopholes, etc. Therefore, first of all, you should pay special attention to answering quickly, and then tell your thoughts in an orderly way. Generally speaking, it is better to answer with structural forms such as "first, second, third" or "first, second and then".

There are two kinds of analysis "questions": objective questions and subjective questions. An objective question is a question with a standard answer, while a subjective question is a question with multiple answers. Relatively speaking, there are very few objective questions, while there are many subjective questions. In this case, different people have different opinions, and the competitors have a broad room for free play. Therefore, they should be full of confidence and avoid panic. As long as they are not outrageous and have no obvious mistakes, they will be able to pass the test calmly. If the sparks of new ideas can burst out from time to time, the effect will be better.

The purpose of predicting the competition for the "examination questions" position is very clear, that is, the competitors prove that they are more qualified for a certain position than others by explaining and expounding their experiences, achievements, advantages and work assumptions. The judges' questions are mainly raised from these aspects: including questions related to your experience, questions related to your competitive position, questions related to your position, questions related to formal policies and so on. As a competitor, you can focus on these aspects in advance, concretize the possible questions, and draw up an outline of the answers in advance in a concise and orderly manner. If the questions put forward by the judges are consistent with or similar to the questions you think ahead of time, you can talk calmly and Kan Kan. If the questions put forward are different from your ideas, you can also graft them tactfully and assemble them flexibly. In short, you won't choke and be flustered on the spot.

Intentionally "framing" means consciously putting forward some concepts, ideas or questions during the preparation of the competitive speech draft, but without elaborating them in depth. In the course of the speech, it is natural to highlight these "framing" by slowing down the speech and strengthening the tone, so as to attract the attention of the judges and "seduce" the judges to ask questions. For example, when a competitor talked about the idea of doing a good job in market research, he specifically talked about the problems of ideas and methods. The third floor only skillfully put forward a sentence with emphasis: "In addition, we should pay attention to strengthening the team building of the sales department." Sure enough, some judges got to the bottom of it: "What measures are you going to take to strengthen team building?" This question is right in the middle of the "trap" of the competitor, "Give me a question and give you a wonderful one", and it comes naturally and seamlessly.

Response in defense

The defense process is full of "variables". Under the premise of full preparation, we should also master some coping strategies.

1. "Nonsense" won't waste time. When the judges ask questions and you don't know where to start at once, you might as well say some nonsense, such as "Your question is very good, which I should take seriously in my future work" and "The question you just asked is: Why is quality the lifeline of the enterprise? The reason why quality is the lifeline of an enterprise ... "And so on, although such words are nonsense, they are also in line with people's oral habits of answering questions. Using such words, we can strive for limited but precious time, organize our thinking, collect materials, and then elaborate them in an orderly manner. The role of nonsense cannot be underestimated.

2. Although many jobs are different in nature, the rules of work and the measures to do a good job are similar once summarized and refined, such as strengthening study, improving the system, putting measures in place, ensuring funds, highlighting key points, etc. When the judges ask questions like "What measures are you going to take to do a good job" and you are not familiar with these jobs, you can contact them appropriately to keep quiet.

3. "Good words" are true to straighten out emotions. Sometimes the judges' questions are not so much questions as opinions, but they are really "malicious" and "tricky" on this special occasion, and if they are not careful, they will not be able to step down. When answering, don't say big and inappropriate words, let alone exciting words. The best choice is to say "good words", sincerely admit the shortcomings, and promise to pay attention to improvement in the future. For example, a judge asked, "The General Office should be a comprehensive service department. Why can you get tickets when the leaders are on a business trip, but our employees can't get tickets when they are on a business trip?" This kind of question can't be clearly stated in one or two sentences. A competitor answered this question: "In our work, such a problem may indeed occur, and I am deeply sorry for it. I didn't do it well last time. I will do it well next time. If you encounter such a problem, you can directly ask me, and I will do my best." A few kind words warmed the questioner and others.

4. "Jokes" are common and relaxed. Sometimes the judges' questions are sharp-edged, forcing you to express your position on the spot and putting you in a dilemma. For example, several judges unanimously challenged a comrade who was competing for the director of infrastructure: "Our unit wants to requisition XX mu of land, can you guarantee to get the land within one year?" "With a bonus of 2, RMB, can you finish the task on time?" The competitor said with a wry smile, "If I say it's no problem to take it off within one year, it's cheating the leaders and the masses. Even if I were given $2,, I wouldn't be sure. Generally speaking, a year can solve the problem, but as far as I know, there are dozens of farmers on that land, and demolition is the most headache in the process of land acquisition. When I meet several nail houses, the progress will be affected, but I will work hard. ;
