Everyone engaged in surveying and mapping, whether military or local, must have the experience that due to the nature of the work, they need to go out often, which means that a considerable part of their time needs to be spent on the road. Because there are many accidental factors on the road, some unexpected events often occur. No matter how carefully you think and prepare in advance, these events are often inevitable. In dealing with these events, we need not only some wit, but also a little courage and courage, and a little ability to control the development of the situation.

June 65438+July 0997, Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau.

After successfully completing the survey task in Tibet, according to the command, our squadron went to Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau again.

Our location is in Zhaotong and our headquarters is in Kunming.

One day at noon, the headquarters informed us by radio that we would go to the headquarters to accept a new task. I don't need any more people because I'm just accepting a task. So, I took the bus driver Zhang Bing and set off in Beijing 2020.

After receiving the task at the headquarters, I had a simple dinner, had a rest and returned around 6 pm.

Although it is a little hot in summer in Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, it is cool to walk on the road, because it is near evening and there are lush trees and green leaves. The Panshan Highway along the way is not wide, but it is flat. Along the way, the cool breeze blows, the trees are shaded, and the sunset shines through the cracks in the leaves, forming a mottled shadow on the road, which is constantly left behind by us. This situation really makes people feel relaxed and happy. In addition, the situation at the measuring point is relatively smooth and I am in a happy mood.

Along the way, we passed through some small villages and towns, and local fruit farmers were selling all kinds of fruits from time to time on both sides of the road. In order to go back and give the squadron soldiers a rare sumptuous food, I specially bought a sack of local peaches on the roadside.

The weather in Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau in July is characterized by a lot of rain, which often rains for no reason, sometimes several times a day, just like no man's land in northern Tibet, and it often snows for no reason. On the way back, I don't know when it began to rain. It's not too heavy, but it's not that kind of rain in Mao Mao. It is so gentle and leisurely.

It is getting dark.

Because it is a Panshan highway, most of the roads have slopes, and it is dark, so we slowed down.

It's about 100 km from Zhaotong, and it's nearly ten o'clock in the evening. At this time, sitting in the cab is no longer cool, but a little cold. Zhang Bing and I joked that we are simply hungry and cold now.

Walking around the foot of the mountain, I found it was dark not far ahead. Zhang Bing slowed down, slowly moved in and approached. I got off the bus and observed it, and found that there was a mudslide here. Gravel, mud and some small trees on the mountain slipped into the middle of the road because of the rain. Fortunately, it seems that the time of debris flow is not too long and the situation is not very serious. All roads are not blocked, but a layer of gravel mud with a thickness of about 10 cm has been formed on the road surface. Occasionally, small trees cross the road. As long as you move it away with a little force, it will not affect the passage. I got on the bus and discussed it with Zhang Bing. We all agree that obviously, we should stay here and wait for the rain to stop. I don't know if it's been a few years, and it's hard to predict whether the debris flow will be more serious. It's dark around now, and there are no vehicles on the road, so it's unpredictable to wait for rescue. So we decided to drive there!

Zhang Bing started the car, turned on the headlights and drove slowly and tentatively. The road is slippery and uneven because of the debris flow. The jeep body is crooked and slowly rocks forward. I was on tenterhooks, held my breath and stared forward nervously in the direction of the light. At this time, I estimate that Zhang Bing, like me, forgot the cold, hunger and windows. If the car is caught in a mudslide, the consequences are unimaginable. The best result is that Zhang Bing and I will stay here for one night and wait for the passing vehicles to come to the rescue after dawn. What if the result is not good? I don't know, I just don't want to. Fortunately, the car drove into the middle of the mudslide, and it was nothing serious. This means that after half of this situation, we can start a mudslide. If this happens, everything will be fine. But I'm really afraid of what will happen next. The car body suddenly tilted, and my head swelled at once. I immediately realized that it was trapped!

Zhang Bing tried to push back and forth, and I got off and pushed forward, trying to contribute a little, but to no avail. We both haven't eaten for nearly half a day, cold and hungry. Where did we get the strength? As we expected, the jeep swayed from side to side, but it just couldn't get out. At this time, there is really a feeling that you should not scream every day and the ground is ineffective.

Just then, suddenly from somewhere on the hillside by the roadside, a dozen people came down. "Who are they? What are you doing? The strength ratio of ten to one is very unfavorable to us. " While I was thinking about these questions, one of them spoke. What he said is the local dialect to the core. After their repeated explanations, Zhang Bing and I repeatedly identified them, and finally understood that, according to him, they were local farmers and were willing to help us push the car out, but on condition that each of them was given a pack of cigarettes. I estimated that a pack of cigarettes costs two or three dollars, four or five dollars at most, and fifty dollars for a dozen people, which is quite reasonable, but he said at least Hongtashan. At that time, the lowest price in Hongtashan was 10 yuan, so a dozen people probably needed 150 yuan, which is not a small sum for me. At that time, my salary was only 1000 yuan. Therefore, I made it clear to them that this condition was unacceptable to us and they refused to reduce the price any more. The result of the negotiations, or to find a way to solve.

I looked around and found a stone not far from the road. So, Zhang Bing and I decided to move here to cushion the car.

When Zhang Bing and I were moving a stone, I don't know which one shouted: This stone is ours, we can't move it!

I was not satisfied with what they did, and my heart was full of anger. Although it was dark at that time, there was still some visibility. They should be able to judge our identity from our clothes and the vehicles we ride. They asked us for such a high price for such a simple thing as a cart, without giving in at all. Now, when Zhang Bing and I moved the stone cushion car, we even said such arrogant words. Do we still have eyes?

Suddenly, my anger broke out, so I said the following sentence to them, which I still feel is a bit heroic: I tell you, we are the China People's Liberation Army, and we encountered difficulties when passing through here on a military mission. Instead of offering any help, you put forward various conditions to make things difficult for us! Can you earn this extra money here without us? Do you really think you are a mountain king? I really want to open this place. I planted this tree. If I want to cross this place, do you want to buy a toll? Say this stone is yours? You shout at it, it says yes, and I won't move. If not, I will move today, and besides, it won't move! Looking back, I said to Zhang Bing: Move!

Having said these words, I imagined the worst result in my mind. At worst, Baijin is here today, but at the same time, I don't think they have the courage. ...

The air, suddenly tense. Although it is dark, I can still feel this suffocating atmosphere through the darkness.

The two sides confronted each other for about ten seconds. I saw that they were indifferent, so I turned around and continued to move stones with Zhang Bing. But Zhang Bing and I didn't eat a mouthful of rice or drink a mouthful of water. Where did we get the strength? The stone has just loosened and there is no sign of being lifted. Maybe they are watching our jokes in the dark corner at this time.

However, at this time, the situation reversed, and it was a dramatic reversal!

Maybe it was their sympathy when they saw us struggling to move rocks, maybe what I said above touched their nerves, or maybe the harsh questioning had a deterrent effect on them, or maybe it was a combination of the three. One of them said, we will help you carry the car out for free. At the same time, five or six of them came to our car ... They were real manual workers, and they were full, so they easily carried our car out of the pit.

The atmosphere suddenly changed from zero to boiling point, and the scene suddenly relaxed a lot. To show our gratitude, I gave them the only pack of cigarettes in the car and the bag of peaches I bought along the way. ...

When Zhang Bing and I returned to the station, it was already two o'clock in the middle of the night.

It has been nearly twenty years since this incident, during which I have experienced many things and gained a lot of experience. But looking back on this incident, I still think that the way to deal with it at that time was the most appropriate-when dealing with some incidents, especially some emergencies, I need not only some wit, but sometimes I really need a little courage and courage, and I need a little ability to control the development of the situation.

It is also a right to record this past and share it with my comrades-in-arms, classmates and local surveying and mapping colleagues. Remember that time and time again.
