This trip to Tibet (and my second trip to Tibet by car) actually originated from a video chat with my classmates. He is a devout Buddhist. The last time I drove by car in Tibet, I took the southern line of Sichuan-Tibet Line (National Road 3 18) from Chengdu to Lhasa, and then flew back to Guangzhou. This time, my classmates and I also plan to take the southern section of the Sichuan-Tibet line (National Road 3 18) and the Qinghai-Tibet line (National Road 109) for a total of 6,000 kilometers. When planning a trip, several friends joined in. Although I seriously told the group members who were willing to travel all the way, I drove 6000 kilometers in more than ten days, with an average of 500 kilometers per day. The road conditions are mostly plateaus above 3500 meters above sea level. The conditions are very difficult, which is a great challenge for people and cars. However, the mysterious place of Tibet is too tempting for them. In the end, no one gave up, and the team size gradually increased to two cars and seven people.
For the sake of safety, we have prepared the onboard equipment such as Jiang Long, air pump, flashlight, towing rope and snow chains in advance for emergencies. More importantly, the 109 national highway, which is more than 4000 meters above sea level, is full of unknowns and temptations when driving for the first time.
It is 2000 kilometers from Chengdu to Lhasa, and we plan to walk it in 4 days. On the first day from Chengdu to Yajiang, I visited Luding Bridge. 13 years ago, when we took the Sichuan-Tibet line by car, the expressway could only go from Chengdu to Ya 'an, and now it can drive to Kangding for kilometers. After coming out of Luding Bridge, it didn't take long to reach Kangding, the end of Yakang Expressway. A love song of Kangding makes people remember this place forever, and since Kangding, the off-highway section of 3 18 national highway in Sichuan has also been officially opened. From Kangding to Yajiang, it is the first test for friends living in low-altitude areas to climb two mountains above 4000 meters above sea level, namely Zheduo Mountain and Gaoersi Mountain.
High altitude areas are a test for people and cars. When we crossed the mountainous area, it was raining and foggy, and there was sleet in many sections. The temperature outside the car is only 2℃, there is snow on the soil and grass on the roadside, and the road surface is extremely slippery. We followed the traffic all the way, and there was more and more water on the road. But, CS75? When I came out of Batang, it was 8 kilometers away from Juba Long Township on the border of Sichuan and Tibet, and the traffic began to be congested. Because of the road construction, I encountered three unilateral releases before and after, and waited for nearly three hours. The cut gravel road surface is waiting to be repaired, and the car starts to raise huge dust, just like a rolling dragon, covering the car behind it. Good thing I drive a CS75? Plus it's well sealed. We stayed in Mangkang for one night, and soon we set off on the third morning. Magnificent and high-spirited mountains appeared before our eyes, and dark green pyramid-shaped peaks sparkled in the morning light, which had a different kind of cold beauty. Looking at the mountains in front of me going straight into the sky, golden, aloof and quiet, there is a kind of calmness that overlooks all beings. The friends couldn't help but get off the bus and shoot wildly, as fresh as grandma Liu entered the Grand View Garden.
From Mangkang to Ranwu, we kept climbing mountains and mountains. This section of the road has great ups and downs, sometimes high mountains and sometimes deep valleys. Sometimes I had to wait 1 or 2 hours to make way for the motorcade. Of course, we didn't meet such a team this time, but looking at the winding and rugged mountain road, the previous scenes can also make me feel inexplicably excited.
What excites my friends is Ranwu Town, where I stayed for the third night. I don't know whether Ranwu Lake in Ranwu Town is high in altitude or the scenery is too beautiful. Friends are too excited to sleep for a long time. Ranwu Lake is 3850 meters above sea level and covers an area of about 22 square kilometers. It is the largest lake in eastern Tibet.
However, the picturesque scenery of Ranwu Lake makes us forget the fatigue of the journey at once. Steep mountains, snow-white glaciers, green lakes, green pastures, floating white clouds and lush forests all show the beauty of nature. The friends picked up the camera and pressed it again, for fear that the beautiful scenery would slip away inadvertently. Several local people looked at us curiously, and their expressions were full of doubts. Perhaps in their eyes, this is the most common scenery they can see every day. For us, it is so precious and charming.
Tibet is called a holy land, not only because it is a Buddhist holy land, but also because the spotless and clean environment is like a paradise. Many people will feel pure and enlightened after coming to Tibet, which is also the charm of the snowy plateau. For thousands of years, man and nature have been interdependent.
