The story of the fall of Sun Shan

The famous Sun Shan tells the story of Sun Shan, a gifted scholar in the Song Dynasty, and the son of a fellow villager who went to Beijing to take the exam. Sun Shan's name was at the bottom of the list, but the son of a fellow villager failed the exam. When he got home, the fellow villager asked his son if he had been admitted. Sun Shan said: "Xie Yuan is in Sun Shan, and Xianlang is outside Sun Mountain." From then on, people called it "dropping out of Sun Shan" to take the exam, but they were not admitted.

Alluding to Sun Shan's fame.

The name comes from the court record of Song Fan Gongzhuo: "Sun Shan, a native of Wu, is also an interesting wisdom. To carry his county, the villagers asked his son to go with them. The villagers are depressed, and the mountain is at the end of the list, so they return first. The villagers asked his son about his gains and losses, and the mountain said,' Sun Shan solved his name, and Xianlang is even outside Sun Shan.' "

There was a gifted scholar named Sun Shan in Song Dynasty in China. He was very clever and liked telling jokes, so people nearby called him a "funny gifted scholar".

Once, he and the son of a fellow villager went to Beijing to take a juren exam. When the list was published, I only saw that Sun Shan's name was arranged at the end of the list, but it was also on the list, but the son of the fellow villager who went with him was not admitted.

Soon after, Sun Shanxian went home, and his fellow villagers came to ask Sun Shan if his son had been admitted. Sun Shan was embarrassed to answer directly, but it was not easy to hide it. He made up two poems: "Xie Yuan is in Sun Shan and Xianlang is outside Sun Shan." It means that the last person on the list is Sun Shan, whose name is behind mine, that is, he failed the exam.

Since then, people have called those who took exams or other exams but were not admitted as "Sun Shan losers".
