Other plays include: "The Extraordinary Detective" (1968); "After the Gallery" (1970); "Dirty Linen" (1976); "Every Good Boy's Deserve" (1977), about Soviet political opponents and a symphony orchestra; The Spy (1988), in which Stoppard combined a spy story with the quantum theory of physics; Arcadia (1993) explores mysteries related to time, love, and thermodynamics; and "Indian Ink" (1995).
Stoppard was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1997. In 1998, he won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for the film "Shakespeare in Love" and Mark Norman ***. Stoppard also wrote a trilogy called "The Coast of Utopia" (2002), which depicts Russian intellectuals in the 19th century and is titled "The Journey," "The Shipwreck," and "The Deliverance."
