Brief introduction of Hainan dialect

The professional name of Hainan dialect is Hainan Min Dialect, which belongs to Minnan dialect of Sino-Tibetan language family. There are about 565,438+million people in the province, accounting for about 80% of the total population of the province. Hainan dialect is the most widely used and populous dialect in Hainan Province, mainly distributed in Haikou, Wenchang, Qionghai, Wanning, Ding 'an, Tunchang, Chengmai and Lingshui, Ledong, Dongfang, Changjiang, Sanya, Qiongzhong and Wuzhishan, as well as cities and counties such as Leizhou Peninsula, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines. In different places, there are some differences in pronunciation and tone of Hainan dialect, and there are also some accent differences between specific cities and counties that cannot be communicated. The mainstream academic circles believe that Hainan dialect with Wenchang accent has the most far-reaching influence. Because the first stop of Minnan culture in Hainan Island is Wenchang, the general TV broadcast in Hainan is mainly Wenchang accent, and the overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia are also mainly Wenchang accent.

Hainan dialect is one of the inheritors of traditional Chinese, and it still retains many distinctive features of traditional Minnan dialect (such as entering tone).

Hainan dialect has some differences in pronunciation, tone and vocabulary in different regions.
