What are the commandments of Islam?
Islam strictly forbids the precepts of figurative painting, which has the following four influences on Islamic art: First, it promotes the secularization of Islamic art. In Islam, plastic arts such as painting, mural painting and sculpture are not regarded as afterlife art, do not serve religion, and stay away from mosques and classics. Different from Christianity, paintings and sculptures are attached to non-religious buildings, books, porcelain, textiles and other secular objects. Secondly, it publicizes the abstract features of Islamic art. Some scholars point out that there is no so-called "Islamic art" since portraits of people and even pictures of birds and animals exist in non-religious occasions. Although Islamic art does not directly serve religion, it is bound by Islamic teachings and its aesthetics. Fearing the warning of doomsday punishment in the Hadith, Muslims avoid figurative and realistic artistic creation techniques, adopt abstract forms of expression and express profound meanings, ignoring the principles of light and shadow, perspective and three-dimensional space, as well as the proportion of people and animals. From this point of view, Islamic art is very different from western traditional classical art, which runs through Islamic teachings and aesthetic thoughts. Third, promote the development of Islamic decorative arts. Although figurative painting is forbidden, Muslims still need plastic arts to express their ideas in social life. In order to eliminate the contradiction between religion and art, Muslim artists have found a new way to replace plastic arts with figurative and dual decorative arts, and achieved their goal perfectly. The achievements of Islamic decorative arts are ahead of those of other nations and religions in the world. Fourth, the social status of artists is not high. In Islamic history, artists rank behind calligraphers and dogmatists. Non-religious classics, calligraphers write manuscripts, and artists only draw illustrations in the blanks. /kloc-before the 0/3rd century, artists generally did not sign their names on illustrations.
