What is suspension?

Hanging is actually divided into hanging and not hanging. Hanging refers to the method of strangling a person with a rope to make him die. Hanging refers to hanging a person's neck in mid-air with a rope and then dying.

Hanging generally refers to the execution of the death penalty. But two situations of hanging can also be used for murder and suicide.

Explaining the death penalty is also called asking for hanging, hanging one's head, etc. If it is used for suicide, it is called hanging.

Methods and principles

-

Generally speaking, hanging a dying person from a tree or a beam is the easiest way. This method is also called hanging.

There is also a method of strangulation like tug-of-war. Two groups of people pull ropes on both sides and strangle the person in the middle.

The reasons for hanging are quite complicated and can be roughly divided into the following categories:

The carotid artery is compressed, which blocks the blood vessels, leading to brain hypoxia and death (the vast majority)

The fracture of cervical vertebra leads to the destruction of the central nervous system (falling from a height, which only happens occasionally when hanging)

Obstruction of trachea leads to asphyxia (although most people think this is the main cause of death, it actually rarely happens)

Heart failure caused by vascular compression (almost impossible)

General situation of suspension

-

All countries in the world execute prisoners by hanging. In most cases, people who are hanged are ordinary people (nobles are often beheaded), so hanging is regarded as a symbol of dishonour. So many war criminals who participated in World War II were hanged.

In the history of China, hanging is usually not the lowest death penalty. On the contrary, in order to keep the whole body, senior officials of the royal family generally ask for hanging or hanging, rather than beheading, which may lead to beheading. There are more lenses used now.

Britain once regarded hanging as the first step of its car splitting punishment, and the prisoner would not die at this stage.

Countries such as Singapore and Iran still use it.
