Urgent! An English composition about spending a happy day with the elderly in a nursing home.

Last Sunday, we visited the home for the elderly. We started early in the morning and brought them a lot of warmth. We gave them many books and many fruits. We had a pleasant conversation with them and told them many interesting stories. We help them wash clothes and clean the room. We teach them how to use the computer. We both feel very happy. When we had to say goodbye to them, they really didn't want us to go. They thanked us very much, and we were really moved by them. Although we have done very little, it is of great significance to the elderly. So next time, if we have a chance, we will come again.

At 2 o'clock this afternoon, my classmates and I went to the nursing home by bus to express our condolences to the elderly .. We happily helped the elderly to wash clothes and sweep the floor. We talked about what happened when we were young and listened to them talk about their good old days. Although the work seems hard, we still feel very happy. During the short three hours in the nursing home, we deeply realized that it is very important to take care of and respect the elderly. How time flies! Finally, we didn't go to never say goodbye and promised to visit them next time. Then the same bus will take us back.

Now more and more elderly people choose to live in nursing homes. Some people think that nursing homes provide a better environment for the elderly than families. I personally agree with this view for the following reasons.

First of all, nursing homes provide relatively first-class facilities and services for the elderly, which families lack. Nowadays, working couples need to face fierce competition, and they need to earn more money to support their families. Therefore, dual-career couples rarely have time to take care of the elderly, especially when the elderly suffer from serious diseases. On the contrary, when the elderly live in nursing homes, nurses can take care of their needs and advanced facilities can provide good treatment.

Secondly, in nursing homes, the elderly can meet people with similar ages, tastes and hobbies, and they know the elderly better. The lifestyle of the younger generation is usually different from that of the older generation. Young people may feel that the presence of others will make them uneasy. Besides, old people need more peace and rest, while young people need more activities. When the elderly choose to live in a nursing home, they don't have to worry about this problem.

Last but not least, elderly people living in nursing homes can maintain a harmonious family atmosphere. Obviously, there is a generation gap between the elderly and adult children. For example, the elderly are afraid of change. They stick to traditional principles and customs, while young people welcome new ideas. They are always trying new things. Old people and adult children will inevitably have different views on some things. These differences may lead to differences and even disharmony.

From what has been discussed above, we can draw the conclusion that it is not only a good habit for adult children, but also for the elderly to live in nursing homes. However, this does not mean that children will give up the responsibility of caring for the elderly.

Hope to adopt.
