Brief introduction: Africa's rich natural resources provide important conditions for the sustainable development of traditional Chinese medicine in Central Africa. This paper is about the development status and communication strategy of traditional Chinese medicine in Africa. Welcome to read!

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) culture is one of the treasures of China's traditional culture, which has spread to more than 80 countries and regions, including African countries. This paper discusses the history, present situation and some problems faced by the spread of traditional Chinese medicine in major African countries, and puts forward corresponding communication strategies.

1 Development history and present situation of traditional Chinese medicine in Africa

First, the spread of Chinese medicine in Africa has a long history. Africa is the second largest continent in the world, with a total population of about 1 1 billion. Historical research shows that the communication between Chinese medicine and Africa has a long history, which can be traced back to Zheng He's voyage to the West in the Ming Dynasty. However, the development of Chinese medicine in Africa is relatively backward compared with other regions, and the number of clinics and employees are relatively small. African countries lack complete sets of Chinese medicine management laws and regulations, and medical education has not yet formed a system. Most TCM practitioners are trained in China and other Asian countries.

Fourth, Chinese medicine has served the African people and consolidated the traditional friendship between China and Africa. Malaria and AIDS are the main political, social, economic and medical problems facing the whole African region. Helping African countries solve the problems of malaria and AIDS prevention and control is the most powerful assistance to the African people. Over the years, Chinese medicine has played a unique role in the prevention and treatment of major infectious diseases, helping African countries to fight malaria and try to treat AIDS, and winning the widest mass base for China in African countries. During the 50-year foreign aid medical work, some Chinese medicine practitioners were invited by the host countries to stay and continue to engage in medical services after the mission ended, and some became health care doctors of foreign dignitaries and served as unique diplomatic ambassadors of China and Africa.

2 opportunities for the spread of Chinese medicine in Africa

First, the state's attention and support is an important guarantee for China-Africa cooperation in traditional Chinese medicine. In recent years, the central government has made a series of important arrangements for the work of Chinese medicine, vigorously supporting and promoting the development of Chinese medicine. The State Council has specially promulgated "Several Opinions on Supporting and Promoting the Development of Chinese Medicine", which clearly defines the task of promoting the all-round development of Chinese medicine. The National Twelfth Five-Year Plan lists supporting the development of Chinese medicine as a separate section, which is one of the six key tasks to improve the basic medical and health system. The relevant departments in the State Council strongly support the work of traditional Chinese medicine, and have issued a series of policies and measures that conform to the characteristics and development laws of traditional Chinese medicine and are conducive to giving full play to its characteristics and advantages. The foreign exchange and cooperation of traditional Chinese medicine is an important part of the cause of traditional Chinese medicine, and the state's support policies for the development of traditional Chinese medicine have created a good policy environment for promoting foreign exchange and cooperation of traditional Chinese medicine.

Second, the unique advantages of Chinese medicine have laid a solid foundation for exchanges and cooperation between Chinese medicine and Africa. In recent years, the development of traditional medicine represented by traditional Chinese medicine has been strongly advocated and respected by the World Health Organization. The World Health Organization believes that medicine in the 2nd/Kloc-0 century will develop from disease medicine to health medicine, from emphasizing treatment to prevention, from antagonistic treatment to holistic treatment, from improving focus to improving ecological environment, from group treatment to individual treatment, from biotherapy to comprehensive physical and mental treatment, from emphasizing the role of doctors to attaching importance to the self-care function of patients, and from disease-centered to patient-centered. Under this trend, traditional medicine, represented by traditional Chinese medicine, conforms to the new demand of the world pharmaceutical market, shows strong vitality and broad development prospects, and is widely valued and supported by the international community, especially African countries. Third, the unique social development environment of African countries makes the cooperation between China and Africa in traditional Chinese medicine face broad development space. Africa is one of the earliest continents for human reproduction. In the course of its existence, "indigenous knowledge", including traditional medicine, has been formed and passed down from generation to generation, which has profoundly affected people's lifestyle. This factor makes Chinese medicine more acceptable in African countries, so Chinese medicine has more room for development in Africa than in western countries. In particular, the economic level of most countries in Africa is low, and the high cost of modern medical care is unbearable for many Africans. Simple and cheap traditional medical care has become the only choice for many people.

Fourth, Africa's rich natural resources provide important conditions for the sustainable development of Chinese medicine in Central Africa. Take South Africa as an example. As one of the countries with the richest medicinal plant resources in the world, there are about 3,000 species of plants with medicinal value in South Africa, of which 1.30 species are widely used in the field of traditional medicine, which is the material basis for the continuation of traditional medical culture and provides realistic choices for African people in the primary stage of economic development to treat diseases.

3 Chinese medicine in Africa's cultural communication strategy

First, set up a foreign aid center for Chinese medicine. According to the foreign aid medical team, at present, people in recipient countries not only attach importance to acupuncture, but also have a growing demand for Chinese medicine treatment. It is suggested to set up a Chinese medicine foreign aid medical team, increase the number of Chinese medicine practitioners, improve the utilization rate of Chinese herbal medicines, and promote more Chinese medicine products to Africa. At the same time, it is suggested to establish Chinese medicine centers in Kenya, Nigeria and other countries in Africa to provide comprehensive Chinese medicine services such as Chinese medicine, acupuncture, massage and health care for local community residents, or to provide anti-AIDS, anti-malaria and other medical services for different countries.

Second, formulate a special national strategy for cooperation between China and Africa in traditional Chinese medicine. In view of Africa's important position in China's diplomatic and economic strategy, it is suggested that China-Africa cooperation strategy on traditional Chinese medicine should be formulated at the national level as soon as possible from the overall situation of the national strategy, and support for existing key projects should be continuously increased.

Third, it should be implemented step by step based on the needs of African countries. First, in Nigeria, Tanzania, Malawi, Madagascar and other countries that have been interested in promoting the technical scheme of compound artemisinin to eliminate malaria, choose research fields, study and summarize the rapid malaria control and elimination models suitable for their respective characteristics, and be supported by national foreign aid funds; Establish a research center for malaria control in Central Africa, build a national collaborative innovation mechanism for malaria control in Africa with compound artemisinin, and establish a team of experts who can persist in this field for a long time and a long-term mechanism for sustainable development.
