Are there any empires and principalities in the world now?

Now there are no empires in the world, but monarchies.

Existing Principalities: Principality of Monaco, Principality of Andorra, Principality of Liechtenstein, Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and Independent State of Samoa.

Empire: Empire is a general term for a powerful country with a vast territory, many ruling or dominating nationalities and great international influence. The word empire has no precise scientific definition, and its use is very confusing.

Principality: The head of a country is called the Grand Duke, and such a country is called the Principality, or Grand Duchy. It is an independent country with the Duke as its head.
