Formerly known as Li Yan, he was called "Li prodigal son" with a beautiful word. Born in Huaizhou (now Qinyang County, Henan Province), he was the prime minister and traitor at the end of the Northern Song Dynasty. He is handsome, graceful, agile and has a certain foundation. But because of his folk background, his nature is also very naughty. He is dissolute by nature, likes playing football and has various styles; At the same time, he also likes to write yellow jokes and then sell them to the procuress to sing to the guests.

He has strong communication skills, often invites friends to his home to enjoy, and is flexible in being an official, so he was quickly promoted and became an important official in the court. In the sixth year of Xuanhe (1 124), Li Bangyan was appointed Shaozai. When he became a young butcher, Li Bangyan didn't make any achievements, but was complacent and was called "the prodigal prime minister" by Beijingers. When he became prime minister, life became more and more difficult. After all, he is a senior official with no achievements. Too many students couldn't stand it, so they began to write letters demanding the dismissal of Li Bangyan and his companions. This frightened Li Bangyan, who fled quickly, demanding to resign as an official in other places, begging for peace and kowtowing.

As the "Prime Minister of the Prodigal Son", Li Bangyan's fate is the same as that of the Prodigal Son. After he ascended the throne in Zhao Gou, Song Gaozong, he was demoted without any achievements, and finally died in Guizhou (now Guilin, Guangxi).
