Which Buddha said that bodhicitta was initiated for all sentient beings, and the other person wanted eyes, but it was stinky.

This is the story of the venerable Sharifutsu, who practiced Bodhisattva before the robbery in the sixties. In order to test his bodhisattva, heaven and man became dutiful sons and took his eyes.

The story goes like this:

Speaking of Imbusch, the elder of Suda, he gave the Buddha a beautiful house, and he could see the palace in the sky through Sharifutsu's eyes. There is a story about Sharifutsu's eyes when he walked the Bodhisattva Road about 60 years ago.

Sharifutsu was originally the Arhat of Hinayana. Later, he thought that Hinayana was selfish and just wanted to live and die for himself. Practicing the Bodhisattva Road and saving lives can relieve the suffering of others. Therefore, he made great efforts to learn from Bodhisattva and benefit all beings. If all sentient beings have any sufferings and needs, they must meet the requirements of others. As the Buddhist scripture says, "If you don't seek happiness for yourself, let all beings get rid of their sufferings." He wants to practice this bodhisattva's altruistic spirit.

Sharifutsu devoted himself to practicing Bodhisattva and giving alms in Mahayana Buddhism. He is not only willing to give all his old-age objects such as houses, fields and property to others with joy, but also gives his body and life without stint.

Sharifutsu made this big wish and touched the gods. God has his heart. He thought about it and said secretly, "Good! Sharifutsu wants to be a bodhisattva, so I have to try him. "

Heaven and man became dutiful sons, waiting for the only way to get rich in Shari. Seeing him coming, I cried, and Sharifutsu couldn't bear to see him. He came forward to express his condolences:

"Young man, why are you crying so sad here? 」

"ah! It's no use telling you! 」

"I am a monk, and I am willing to save the suffering of all beings. As long as you want something, I can give you anything you want. 」

When the young man heard Sharifutsu say so sincerely, his heart ached again. At last he said, "You can't help me. I am crying here, not because I lack all worldly things, but because my mother has an incurable disease. The doctor said that she must use the monk's eyes to decoct medicine, so that her illness can be cured. The eyes of the living are hard to find. How can the monk give them to me? Thinking of my mother moaning in her hospital bed, I am sad to cry here! 」

"No problem. I am a monk. I am willing to give you an eye to save your mother's illness. 」

"Will you give me an eye?" The young man jumped with joy.

"I gave all my property to others, and now I want to further practice Mahayana Bodhisattva and send my body out. However, those who haven't eaten anything met you today and satisfied my desire to learn Taoism. I am very happy and grateful to you. Please try to take one of my eyes! " 」

Sharifutsu thought at that time, I have two eyes, give one to others, and the other can still see things, so it won't interfere with me.

He asked the young man to try to take his eyes, but the young man refused. He said:

"This doesn't work, how can I grab your eyes? You can dig it for me yourself if you want. 」

Sharifutsu felt right when he heard this, and immediately made up his mind to dig out the left eye and put it into the young man's hand, saying:

"Thank you for your blessing, please accept it! 」

"Oh, no!" The young man took the eye and shouted, "Who told you to gouge out your left eye? The doctor said that my mother's illness can only be cured by eating her right eye. 」

Hearing this, Sharifutsu is really amazing! He blamed himself for not asking him before gouging out his eyes. What should he do now? Give him the one on the left, and the one on the right can see. If you dig out your right eye and give it to him, you can't even walk. Respectable Sharifutsu, he doesn't complain. He wants to save people to the end. It is rare to meet a person who is willing to accept charity and achieve himself. Just dig out his right eye and give it to him. After Sharifutsu thought so, he comforted the youth and said:

"Don't worry, I'm only to blame for not being careful and gouging out my eyes without asking. Now I know, anyway, the human body is illusory and impermanent, and my eyes are right. I'm willing to dig it down and give you medicine to cure your mother's illness. 」

After Sharifutsu said this, he made up his mind to dig out his right eye bravely and painstakingly and gave it to the youth.

The young man took Sharifutsu's eyes without saying a word of thanks. He put Sharifutsu's eyes on his nose and smelled them. He immediately fell to the ground and scolded:

"What are you a monk? Your eyes are so smelly, how can you decoct medicine for my mother! 」

After the young man finished cursing, he stepped on Sharif's eyes with his foot.

Although Sharifutsu can't see, he is not deaf. He heard the young man scold him and step on his eyes with his foot on the ground. He finally sighed and thought: it is difficult for all beings to grow up, but it is difficult for bodhisattvas to grow up. I should not dream of studying Mahayana, but should concentrate on self-interested practice first!

Sharifutsu so a retreat, the sky suddenly appeared many heaven and man, said to Sharifutsu:

"Monk! Don't lose heart. Just now, young people came to test your bodhisattva's mind. You should be brave and diligent and study according to your own wishes. 」

Hearing this, Sharifutsu was ashamed, and his altruistic bodhisattva heart was thoroughly remoulded, which immediately made him an eternal Taoist heart.

Since the 1960s, Sharifutsu has been constantly learning Tao. You can have a good eye when you meet Buddha in this life.

Sharifutsu, wisdom comes first.

Among the ten disciples of the Buddha, Sharifutsu has the reputation of "wisdom first".

Because Sharifutsu is second only to Buddha in understanding the depth and breadth of Buddhism and teaching liberation. The Diamond Sutra is a dialogue between Sharifutsu and Buddha.
