Sima Guang, who assisted the four emperors, was a veritable elder of the Four Dynasties. His life can be said to be dedicated to the Northern Song Dynasty and the imperial court. He died in A.D. 1086 at the age of 68.

His wife was so affectionate when she heard Sima Guang. In this complicated state of mind, his wife finally died of depression. After Sima Guang's death, he didn't marry or take concubinage, and he gave his wife all his belongings.
