Take stock of the four ancient prodigies. What's their story?

In ancient China, there were four very famous prodigies. However, some people think that children should not be too clever. If they are too smart, they will die easily. Three of the four prodigies didn't live to be thirteen, but the only prodigy who grew up became the laughingstock of the world. Next, I will take you to know the historical truth in detail. Let's have a look!

First place: Xiang Tuo, teacher of Confucius.

Xiang Tuo was a prodigy of Lu in the Spring and Autumn Period. Although we know that there may not be many people in Xiang Tuo now, he is the most knowledgeable child prodigy in ancient China. Being respected as a teacher by Confucius, he is called a "saint".

When Xiang Tuo was seven years old, one day he met Confucius. Confucius asked Xiang Tuo dozens of questions in a row, and Xiang Tuo answered them all. Xiang Tuo only asked Confucius three questions, but Confucius couldn't answer any of them.

Confucius has 3000 disciples and 72 sages. He himself is a great thinker, educator and founder of Confucianism. However, Confucius was surprised that such a generation of masters were not as knowledgeable as a seven-year-old child, so he worshipped Xiang Tuo as his teacher.

It's a pity that such an excellent child prodigy died at the age of ten.

Second place: Qin Shangqing Ganluo.

Ganluo was a native of Qin at the end of the Warring States Period. Ganluo was brilliant since he was a child, and he worshipped the Prime Minister of Qin as a teacher in his early years.

When Gan Luo was twelve years old, he volunteered to be the ambassador of Zhao, and won the five cities of Zhao for Qin without a single soldier.

After returning to China, Prince Ying Zheng praised Ganluo and named Ganluo Shangqing, equivalent to the Prime Minister. So the reputation of the twelve prime ministers of Ganluo spread in later generations, and Ganluo became a typical figure of young success.

However, Gan Luo died suddenly after he made great achievements at an early age.

Third place: Cao Chong the Elephant.

Cao Chong's popularity is very high, because when we were young, we learned Cao Chong's Elephant in our Chinese textbooks. Cao Chong, the youngest son of Cao Cao during the Three Kingdoms period, was brilliant.

Cao Chong knew how to weigh an elephant when he was five or six years old. Cao Cao liked this little son very much and wanted to pass it on to Cao Chong. It's a pity that such a prodigy died at the age of thirteen.

If Cao Chong dies, it will not be xelloss's turn to succeed him, and the history of the whole Three Kingdoms will be rewritten.

Fourth place: Fang Zhongyong, a typical failure.

Everyone knows Fang Zhongyong, thanks to the article "Upper Zhong Yong" written by the great writer Wang Anshi. Fang Zhongyong was able to write poetry when he was five years old. Even local scholars feel sorry for him, and some people are willing to pay big money for Fang Zhongyong's poems.

But by the time Fang Zhongyong was twelve years old, his poems were already mediocre, and gradually no one read his poems.

Unlike Cao Chong, Ganluo and Xiang Tuo, Fang Zhongyong grew up smoothly. But as an adult, Fang Zhongyong has exactly the same intelligence as ordinary people and lives by farming at home.

Fang Zhongyong's experience became a joke. It has also become a typical figure who was smart when he was a child and mediocre when he grew up.
