The Ninth Plenary Session of the Tenth Guangzhou Municipal Committee proposed that Nansha should reach neighboring cities such as Shenzhen, Dongguan, Zhongshan and Foshan in half an hour, and 1h should reach major cities in the Pearl River Delta. For Nansha, there is still a long way to go from the geometric center of the Pearl River Delta to the economic center of the Pearl River Delta. At present, the traffic in Nansha District mainly depends on self-driving or public transportation. There are 5 expressways and 1 subway lines. In view of the positioning of the National New District of the Free Trade Zone and the Guangzhou City Sub-center, it is obvious that these lines are far from enough. At present, there are four subway lines planned in Nansha District, namely, the south extension of Line 4, which is already under construction and will be completed by the end of 20 17, Line 18, which started construction this year, and Line 22, which is planned. At the same time, there is the only subway line 15 around Guangzhou.

1. The existing Line 4 runs from Tianhe Huangcun Station to Nansha Jinzhou Station. However, the south extension line of Line 4, which is currently under construction, directly extends from Jinzhou to the south for 6 stops and then transfers to Nansha Passenger Terminal. This is a planned guiding route aimed at stimulating the development of Nansha. By then, Nansha Passenger Port can be directly connected to Guangzhou, shortening the time and space distance between the group along the line and Nansha Free Trade Zone and the central city. This is a ring line running in Raonansha Free Trade Zone. Connecting the southeast and northwest of Guangzhou, it can be called the subway artery.

Line 3.22 starts from Guangzhou South Railway Station in the north and ends at Wanqingsha Station in the south, passing through Panyu District and Nansha District, becoming an express line connecting Nansha and the urban area, which provides great convenience for Nansha District to reach Guangzhou urban area.

In addition to rail transit, the new intercity railway has also added branches and leaves to the transportation network of the Pearl River Delta:

Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed railway: a high-speed railway connecting Guangzhou, Dongguan, Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

Shenmao Railway: The project is located in Shenmao Express Railway, which is a part of the coastal railway. It starts from Shenzhen in the east, passes through Dongguan, Guangzhou, Zhongshan, Jiangmen and Yangjiang, and reaches Maoming in the west, connecting the Pearl River Delta and western Guangdong.

The Nansha branch line of Ganshen Passenger Dedicated Line, which passes through Dongguan and reserves Songshan Lake branch line, is scheduled to start on 20 16 and be completed in 2020.

Since Nansha District was designated as a sub-center of the city in 20 16, it has made great efforts to develop commerce.
