Cultural Tradition of Chengdu No.7 Middle School

The school motto is to be kind and set an example for others.

Interpretation of school motto: after observing the sun and the moon, I know that the stars in the sky are too small; When we look up to the truth, we know that many theories are too limited. Therefore, to learn and cultivate morality, we must observe words and observe emotions, distinguish right from wrong, and choose the greatest realm to pursue. The phenomenon of the world is complex, and so are all kinds of theories. If there is no "trial is", it is definitely far from the ultimate truth. Yang Xiong's scholarship was based on Confucius and Mencius, and he carefully distinguished philosophers. For Laozi, he absorbed the theory of "virtue" and abandoned the position of "ritual extinction"; For Zhuangzi, he absorbed the advantages of Zhuangzi's "desire reduction" and abandoned the shortcomings of "swinging but unable".

People are not sages, who can have no shortcomings? There is no end to learning, who can have no doubts? Correct yourself when you know that you have shortcomings, and get rid of any confusion. This is "changing the good". As of February 20 12, the school has four major student organizations, namely, the Youth League Committee, the Student Union, the Association for Science and Technology, and the Federation of Associations, with more than 40 student associations and more than 30 elective courses and activity courses.

As of April 20 13, the school has two kinds of newspapers (Chengdu No.7 Middle School Newspaper and Chengdu No.7 Middle School Psychological Newspaper), three kinds of periodicals (Morning Flowers, Future Dreams and new bable in English) and two kinds (TV stations and radio stations).

By June 20th, 200411,the cultural activities held by the school included the May 4th "Voice of the Country" Chorus Competition, Campus Drama Festival, Chengdu No.7 Middle School Science and Technology Activity Month, Flower Festival and so on.
