On the morning of May 31, 2012, the "Fujian Provincial Academician and Expert Workstation" of Zhangzhou Municipal Hospital was inaugurated at the Chaoyang Branch of Zhangzhou Municipal Hospital. Yao Kaitai, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and professor of Southern Medical University, and Yang Huairong, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Minister of Organization, unveiled the establishment of the expert workstation. Zhao Bangsheng, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Association for Science and Technology, Xu Rongyong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Minister of Propaganda, Zhao Jing, Vice Mayor, Huang Wenhua, Vice Dean and Professor of the School of Basic Medicine of Southern Medical University, Zhan Fenghuang, Director and Professor of Southern Medical University, and leaders of relevant municipal departments and units attended Unveiling ceremony.

The "Fujian Academician Expert Workstation" of Zhangzhou Hospital is jointly established by the School of Basic Medicine of Southern Medical University and Zhangzhou Hospital. This station will organize academicians and experts and their innovation teams to carry out joint research with hospital R&D personnel to address major key technical problems that urgently need to be solved for the development of the hospital; introduce advanced technological achievements from academicians and experts and their innovation teams, and cooperate to promote the transformation and industrialization of technological achievements. Assist the hospital to establish independent intellectual property rights; organize technical innovation lectures and professional technical training through academicians and experts and their teams, assist the hospital in introducing, gathering, and cultivating high-quality innovative technical talents; provide guidance on project applications and subject research to enhance Strength and competitiveness in scientific research.

The central laboratory and tumor biotherapy center under the Academician Workstation have been completed and put into use. The construction of the Zhangzhou Hospital Academician Expert Workstation will effectively promote the improvement of medical scientific research levels in southwestern Fujian, promote the improvement of clinical business levels, and better serve the people's health.
