Is Apple still at Think Different?

16 years ago, Apple told the world to "think differently" and released a famous advertisement. This advertisement also helped Apple achieve great success, defeating their biggest competitor at that time, IBM. Nearly 20 years later, are they still practicing this concept?

Since the advent of the iPad, Apple has not launched any important products, and the iPad Mini is not a new product. Tim Cook, the current CEO of Apple, said that their new products may be released as early as this autumn, or we may see innovative products from Apple next year.

Maybe now Apple doesn't need Think Different, and their existing products can fully make them get enough profits. Apple has just experienced its own glorious period. After all, iPhone and iPad are epoch-making products, which let people see Apple's innovative ability. Today, with these two products, they can still maintain their position as leaders in the technology industry.

However, this stagnation will not bring them a future. For example, their iTunes service has been greatly impacted by streaming media services such as Rdio and Spotify. In the face of these new services, iTunes must innovate in order to keep the crown.

In terms of smart phone business, the rise of Android has also seriously threatened the status of iPhone, and some major mobile phone manufacturers have also begun to sing against Apple, the most successful of which is of course Samsung. In this regard, Apple must introduce some cheaper mobile phone models in order to regain market share. The survey shows that consumers have begun to shift their interest in buying products from other manufacturers such as Samsung, which is undoubtedly bad news for Apple.

I'm not saying that Apple refuses to make changes now. Cook himself is very different from his predecessor Steve Jobs. He did many things that Jobs would not have done when he was alive. For example, he apologized to consumers for Apple's map business. He decided to start paying dividends to shareholders instead of using profits to develop new products like Jobs. He also decided to improve the working environment of workers. But under Cook's leadership, Apple is more and more like an ordinary enterprise.
