What are the Principles of Mold Design —— Six Principles of Mold Design
Do you know the principle of mold design? Below, I will share the six principles of mold design for you, hoping to help you!
Standardization and normalization of design
Mold standardization is the premise of organizing specialized mold production, which is the key to improve mold quality, shorten mold manufacturing cycle and reduce cost.
1. Adopt and purchase standard molds and other standard parts.
Mold base and standard parts are produced by specialized manufacturers and enterprises through socialized division of labor, so that limited resources are optimized. After the general die is scrapped, only the convex-concave die (or core cavity) can not be reused, but the die frame is basically intact. Therefore, the use of standard formwork is helpful for the reuse of formwork.
There are many kinds of stamping dies and injection dies, which are basically composed of standard upper and lower die holders, guide posts, guide sleeves and other parts. At the same time, the standardization of molds can greatly reduce the equipment used to produce molds, thus saving resources and facilitating management.
2. Standardization and standardization of each structural unit of the mold.
This can speed up the design, shorten the design cycle and facilitate the processing management.
Selection of materials
The green degree of mold materials has a very important influence on the green performance of the final product. The material selection of green design must be based on green materials, and the chemical methods used for surface treatment of materials in the past should be abandoned, so as to achieve the purpose of anticorrosion or easy demoulding through physical methods.
Select high-quality mirror die steel to process the die cavity, use stainless steel to process corrosion-resistant die instead of electroplating, or use nickel-phosphorus electroplating which is less harmful to the environment instead of electroplating chromium.
Green materials should have the following basic characteristics:
1. Low pollution, low energy consumption and low cost;
2. Easy processing, no pollution or less pollution in the processing process;
3. Degradable and reusable.
Detachable design
During the use of the mold, some parts are worn due to excessive friction and impact. At this time, as long as these parts are replaced, the mold can still be used. In addition, sometimes new products can only be produced by replacing working parts. Therefore, not dismantling not only wastes a lot of reusable parts and materials, but also causes serious environmental pollution due to improper waste treatment. Therefore, the problem of disassembly should be considered in the early stage of design:
1. Try to replace it with a common structure;
2. On the premise of meeting the strength requirements, try to use detachable connections, such as threaded connections, without welding and riveting.
Manufacturing environment design
The noise and pollution in machinery production workshop, especially in stamping workshop, are very serious, which poses a great threat to workers' health and interferes with the surrounding tranquility. Therefore, the noise generated should be controlled or even eliminated when designing the mold.
Generally, there are several ways to eliminate machine noise:
1. Replace gear transmission with V-belt transmission;
2. Replace rigid clutch with friction clutch;
3. Do a good job in dynamic balance of rotating bodies such as flywheel;
4. Cover the noise-proof cover on the main part of the printing machine;
5. Adopt vibration-free formwork with shock absorber, etc.
Packaging scheme design
The design of packaging scheme mainly includes three aspects: the selection of packaging materials, the improvement of packaging structure and the recycling of packaging materials and their wastes.
The use and waste of packaging materials have a great impact on the environment, especially some materials that are difficult to recycle or degrade, and these materials can only be burned or buried. Therefore, the packaging of products should use green packaging materials (non-toxic, pollution-free, recyclable and degradable materials) as much as possible, which can not only reduce the waste of resources, but also reduce environmental pollution.
Restoration therapy design
The recycling of molds refers to considering the possibility, method and cost of recycling after mold use in the mold design stage. The main contents of recyclable design include: recyclable materials and signs, recycling treatment methods, technical and economic evaluation of recyclability and structural design of recyclability. The main measures are as follows:
1. Use mold materials with little environmental impact, such as nontoxic and harmless materials, renewable materials and easily recyclable materials;
2. Use reusable materials;
3. Refurbish and reprocess used mould parts.
