Which province is Huainan?

Huainan, located in the hinterland of East China and on the bank of Huaihe River, is an important city in north-central Anhui Province. Huaihe River is the geographical dividing line between north and south of China. Huainan is located in the transitional zone connecting east, west, north and south of China, with superior geographical position and convenient transportation. It is connected with the Beijing-Shanghai line in the east and the Beijing-Kowloon line (Beijing-Kowloon) in the west. Huainan Line and National Highway 206 pass through the territory. Huaihe River is transported into the sea, and Beijing-Fuzhou Expressway (Beijing to Fuzhou) and Hefei-Fuyang Expressway (Hefei to Fuyang) run through the east and west wings of the city.

Huainan is rich in cultural heritage. During the Western Han Dynasty, Liu An, the king of Huainan, recruited talents and learned from others in Bagong Mountain, wrote books and published Huai Nan Zi, known as the ancient encyclopedia of China, and invented China gourmet tofu. There are many places of interest in Huainan, including the "Five Great Monuments" praised by Chinese and foreign archaeologists (namely, ancient battlefields, ancient tombs, ancient Shouzhou kilns, ancient Maoxian caves and paleontological fossils), among which the battle of fertilizer and water is a famous example in military history. Flower-drum lanterns in Huaihe River Basin are known as "Oriental Ballet".

Huainan is a young city, founded in 1952, with an area of 2 12 1 km2 and a population of 265,438+10,000. Huainan, together with Chongqing, Dalian, Qingdao and Wuxi in 1984, was approved as a "big city" with local legislative power by the State Council, and was approved as an open city by the State Council in 1985.
