What is the origin of the Winter Olympics?

The Winter Olympics originated from the International Olympic Committee's separation of the summer and winter sports of the Olympic Games, and the official Winter Olympics was formed in 1924.

At that time, the city of Chamonix in France hosted what was then called the "Winter Sports Week". Two years later, the International Olympic Committee officially changed its name to the 1st Winter Olympics. There are 294 athletes from 16 countries and regions participating in 4 events.
