On the morning of July 14, 2009, the 2009 "First China Network Arbor Festival-Li Lei China Gansu Tour" jointly sponsored by the United Nations Environment Programme, China Population Welfare Foundation, china green foundation, Gansu Family Planning Association, Gansu Desertification Control Foundation, Li Lei Youth Development Plan and Southeast Satellite TV was officially launched in Lanzhou Yellow River Mother River.

Since the first China Network Arbor Festival was launched in Beijing in March 2009, it has helped 4,600 poor families to plant 23,000 mu of seabuckthorn ecological economic forest in Tongwei County, Gansu Province, and provided various technical training and labor income-generating opportunities for tens of thousands of local farmers (mainly poor women), and achieved good social, ecological and economic effects.

The expedition in Gansu * * * has 30 young expedition members aged 18-24 and 10 expedition volunteers aged over 25, all of whom were selected from all over the country. In the next month, they will go deep into the desert and rural areas to carry out a series of ecological poverty alleviation activities, travel all over the city to carry out environmental protection propaganda, introduce the ecological environment and rural status quo in the western region to the whole country through media such as the Internet with their own personal experiences and graphic records, and actively advocate the participation of the whole people in tree planting poverty alleviation activities.

The first China Network Arbor Day charity event aims to build a convenient network platform for the public to participate in afforestation and poverty alleviation, further enhance the public's awareness of greening and poverty alleviation, and mobilize the whole society to help the west, plant trees and protect the earth. All the money raised will be used for the "Happy Home-Western Greening Action" ecological poverty alleviation public welfare project, and it is planned to support 8,000 poor families in Tongwei County, Gansu Province and plant 40,000 mu of seabuckthorn ecological economic forest. The "named theme forest" donated by participating organizations and institutions will be established on the official website of "China Network Arbor Festival" and the actual planting site at the same time, and will be named permanently. All the trees donated by participating individuals, organizations and institutions will be planted in Dingxi, Gansu Province, and the local poor families will be responsible for the later management and protection, and the economic benefits generated will also be owned by the management and protection families as poverty alleviation funds.
