You really don't need to understand Japanese attributives. It is important to know the usage of auxiliary words. Beginners had better buy a copy of Everybody's Japanese, and they can learn it by themselves until lesson 13. It is very important to talk about the conversion of verbs and the simplification of honorifics. You need to find a Japanese teacher to teach you, or you won't be able to study.
