History of Young Pioneers

Before the founding of the People's Republic of China, the children's revolutionary organizations founded and led by China's * * * production party mainly included the working boy group during the Northern Expedition War, the * * * children's group during the Agrarian Revolutionary War, the children's group during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period and the children's group during the Liberation War.

On October 13th, 1949, China Children's Team, a nationwide unified children's organization founded by China's * * * Production Party, was established. In June 1953, the Chinese Children's Team was renamed the Chinese Young Pioneers.

In 195, the Central Committee of the China Communist Youth League held the first national meeting of working cadres for children.

In the early days of the People's Republic of China, the Young Pioneers responded to the call of the Party and, under the leadership of the Youth League, actively participated in the three major movements of land reform, suppressing counter-revolutionaries and resisting US aggression and aiding Korea. In the struggle against "three evils" (anti-corruption, anti-waste, anti-bureaucracy) and "five evils" (anti-bribery, anti-theft, anti-theft of state assets, anti-Jerry-building, anti-theft of state economic information), young pioneers have carried out "three dos and three don 'ts" (take care of public property, cherish time, be hard and simple; Don't be selfish at the expense of others, don't be wasteful, and don't be greedy for petty gain and take other people's things.

Since 1953, the Young Pioneers have carried out lively learning activities in accordance with Comrade Mao Zedong's instruction on "study hard". In November 1953, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League held the second national conference on children's work. Inspired by the National Tenth Five-Year Plan, young pioneers study hard and are eager to contribute to the construction of the motherland. Young pioneers from Yixing County, Jiangsu Province, Songshu District, Fuxian County, Liaoning Province, and Beijing put forward initiatives to carry out the "Small Five-Year Plan" activities. With the support of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the "Small Five-Year Plan" activities were quickly and widely carried out nationwide. Young pioneers collect scrap steel, pick grain, plant oil crops, raise small animals, save pocket money and donate tractors.

in 1955, the third national conference on children's work was held. The Central Committee of the Communist Youth League put forward the policy of "actively and massively developing" and "let more children wear red scarves"; "Active youth vanguard life, leading children to be more brave and lively."

In May 1957, the Shanghai Young Pioneers initiated the Red Scarf Month with the slogan "Love the Red Scarf, Be a Good Team Member". In the "Red Scarf Month", young pioneers collected scrap iron and donated the first tractor "Red Scarf" in Shanghai to the motherland.

In 196, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League held the Fourth National Young Pioneers' Work Conference, which made a report entitled "Hold high the red flag of Mao Zedong Thought and adhere to the * * * direction of the children's movement".

In 1962, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League held the Fifth National Young Pioneers Work Conference, which gave a report entitled "Struggle for Better Training the New Generation of * * * Socialism".

In 1963, the CPC Central Committee and Comrade Mao Zedong issued a call to "learn from Comrade Lei Feng", and the Young Pioneers all over the country generally carried out the activity of "learning from Uncle Lei Feng". They read stories about Lei Feng, compared their childhood with Lei Feng, visited exhibitions of Lei Feng's deeds, corresponded with soldiers of Lei Feng's class, made sewing kits, saved boxes and built honor books, and did many good things inside and outside school.

in 195s and 196s, the Young Pioneers were very active everywhere. Such as: visiting factories, rural areas and new construction projects; Meet with old-timers, war heroes, model workers, scientists and writers; Sacrifice and sweep the tombs of martyrs, carry out activities of supporting the army and giving priority to family members, and carry out marching, picnics and military games; Hold story meetings and poetry readings; Carry out activities such as "lovely holiday trip to the motherland", "exploring the moon" and "what will I do when I grow up"; Organize the "45 Minutes' Value" team meeting and the "Brigade Game Festival" to discuss "What is real brave behavior"; Set up "small factories", "small farms" and "small banks", organize scientific interest groups, and establish juvenile libraries and weather stations; Organize "Red Scarf Choir" and so on. These activities have laid a long-term and profound foundation for the development of the Young Pioneers organization and the role of educating people, and have a long-term impact.

during the "cultural revolution", the young pioneers were devastated. The name and logo of the Young Pioneers organization were cancelled and replaced by the "Red Xiaobing" organization with the goal of "criticizing the capitalist roaders".

Reconstruction of Chinese Young Pioneers. The First Plenary Session of the Tenth Central Committee of the Communist Youth League adopted the newly revised Young Pioneers' Articles of Association, and determined that "We are the successors of * * * capitalism" was the team song. Both the construction of cadres and theoretical construction are two major measures for the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League to restore and develop the work of the Young Pioneers. In October 1979, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League held the first national summer camp for counselors, and at the same time established the China Young Pioneers Working Society.

in 1979, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League held the 6th National Young Pioneers Work Conference. The meeting determined the general task of the Young Pioneers' work in the new era: adhere to the principle of all-round development of morality, intelligence, physique and beauty, implement the "five loves" education, organize all children, make the Young Pioneers' work active, and strive to cultivate children into a new generation dedicated to the people, loving science, democratic spirit and strong physique, and create a vigorous reserve team for the four modernizations. The meeting put forward the basic goals of systematization, institutionalization and positional education of the Young Pioneers.

In 1983, Comrade Deng Xiaoping issued the instruction that "education should face modernization, the world and the future". The Young Pioneers set the goal of "facing the new century and bringing up new masters".

In the new period of socialist construction, the Young Pioneers have made many breakthroughs and creations. With the establishment of the Young Pioneers' Congress system and the establishment of the Young Pioneers' Working Committee as the main symbols, the Young Pioneers have achieved relative independence under the leadership of the Youth League, and formed a new pattern in which both the Youth League and the Education League work together to manage the Young Pioneers' work. Young Pioneers actively participated in activities such as "We love science" and "Red Scarf Reading and Newspaper Medal". They went out of campus, went out to society and went to nature, and increased their knowledge, cultivated their ability and developed their abilities in practice.

since the 199s, the content of the Young Pioneers' activities on cultivating children's quality has been gradually strengthened. Especially since 1994, in order to coordinate the strategic transformation of basic education from exam-oriented education to quality education, and cultivate children's healthy personality awareness and initial survival and development skills, the Central Committee of the Youth League and the National Committee for Working Youth have launched the "China Young Eagle Action" (referred to as "Young Eagle Action").

In 192, the Russian revolution encountered many difficulties. In his book What to Do, Lenin issued a great call of "always ready". The people took active actions and finally held the great October Revolution in 1917. On February 13th, 1922, the world's first Young Pioneers organization led by the working class was born in Moscow, the former Soviet Union, and it was determined that "always ready to fight for the cause of * * *" was the call sign of Lenin's Young Pioneers in the former Soviet Union.
