What is the difference between Taekwondo uniform and Karate uniform?

1. Different styles of Taekwondo uniforms

Taekwondo uniforms are in the form of a "pullover". Basically, the name of the association and nationality are printed on the back of the hem of the top, and the sleeves are Long sleeves.

The karate gi is in the shape of a "cardigan", with the left placket pressed against the right placket, and the two plackets of the top fixed with a belt. The name of the dojo organization is embroidered on the left chest, and small characters such as the owner's name sometimes appear on the hem. The sleeves are long-sleeved and elbow-length, and there will be certain differences in different guilds.

2. Different collar colors

Taekwondo uniform collars are generally black. Taekwondo beginners wear white collared uniforms, and red and black belts or rank belts wear red and black collared uniforms.

The collar of the karate uniform is pure white.

3. Belts are of different colors

Taekwondo uniform belts are not all solid colors. Different levels are obtained according to the Taekwondo assessment. From low to high they are: white belt, white and yellow belt , yellow belt, yellow-green belt, green belt, green-blue belt, blue belt, blue-red belt, red belt, red-black belt and black belt.

The belts of karate uniforms are all solid colors. Beginners’ belts are white. After passing the exam, they can be promoted to yellow, red, orange, blue, green, purple, brown, and black.
