The attractions and consumption in Lijiang that are worth visiting, I wish you a happy trip:
1: Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. There are two ways to go. The first is to take a one-day tour with a travel agency. There is a travel agency opposite the waterwheel in the ancient city, and the price is relatively reasonable. But time is relatively constrained and not free. The second is to rent a car by yourself, mostly from Changan Bread (it is better to rent a car with four or five people). No matter which way, there are two options in Jade Dragon Snow Mountain: small ropeway or large ropeway. The small ropeway leads to Maoniuping. Halfway up the snow-capped mountains, there is an alpine meadow where you can see the snow-capped mountains in the distance. The large ropeway can go straight up to the glacier, reaching a maximum altitude of 4680M. Each has its own merits, but generally in winter the snow-capped mountain tops will be shrouded in clouds and mist every afternoon. The price of the large ropeway is relatively expensive. It is said that the price has increased to 480RMB. If you rent a car by yourself, it is recommended to go early in the morning. You can contact the car outside the ancient city one day in advance and leave early the next morning. If you have time in the afternoon, you can go to Shuhe Ancient Town. If you don’t have time, you won’t lose anything if you don’t go.
2: Lashihai This is a typical plateau lake. It is about 5-7KM away from the ancient city. Winter is the best season. Many seasonal migratory waterbirds spend the winter here, especially there are many wild ducks, which are very fat. The best way to travel is by bicycle. Generally, many hotels have bicycle rentals for 10-15 RMB per day, or there are bicycle rentals at the Red Sun Plaza in Xincheng for 15 RMB/day, with a bottle of mineral water and a hand-drawn map. (2004 Spring Festival price) According to the locals: the whole road is easy to walk, but it has to climb a small slope. However, I can tell you responsibly that the so-called small slope is called Huangshan Pass. It is a hill, not a small slope. But it felt good all the way, and it was worth being so tired, especially when going down the mountain. The bike was racing on the mountain road, and it felt like freedom. Tip: Bring plenty of water with you. You can walk along the path along the seaside. It’s very free and you don’t have to worry about getting lost and it’s impossible to get lost. The local residents are very hospitable and can at least ask for some boiled water. There are generally not many people in the morning. Don't go in the scenic area, there is no point, just ride around. 3: Shigu, Tiger Leaping Gorge Shigu Town is located 45 kilometers northwest of Lijiang City, where the first bay of the Yangtze River is located. It is recommended to take a one-day tour, it is simple and convenient. If you rent a car, inquire about the itinerary in detail before going. Because I went to Tiger Leaping Gorge for a hike and it felt good. I don’t need to introduce this. The only thing I want to emphasize is that the best small hotel I have ever stayed in is HALF WAY. I must do it on the balcony to make it worthwhile. Above the line, there are places worth visiting in the surrounding areas, which are not far away. There are also some things like Shuhe Ancient Town that are not worth visiting. But the essence of Lijiang is in the ancient city.
There are also some scenic spots in the ancient city.
1: Sifang Street is the core of the ancient city. If you live there, you will pass by it several times every day. It’s very commercial now, with small stalls everywhere. It's a shame, but I feel great in the morning.
2: The official office of the Lijiang chieftain in Mufu. The architecture is very typical, but it is not worth visiting. Of course, those who are interested in history and ancient architecture can go see it.
3: The Wangu Tower is on one side of the ancient city, on a hillside, overlooking Lijiang, with a good perspective. It's not an ancient building, just an antique building. However, it seems that the tickets are not cheap. In fact, if you want to see the panoramic view of Lijiang, Wangu Tower is not the only choice. There is a hotel next to Wangu Tower. You can drink tea on the second floor rooftop of the hotel, and the view from there is also good. There are several ways to go up to Wangulou. The traditional way is to take Huangshan Street. However, there is a small road on Xinhua Road that can go up to the hill. If you want to take pictures, you can walk there. You can shuttle between old houses all the way. It feels good and you won’t get lost. It’s no problem if you need to keep looking at the TV tower on the mountain.
4: Black Dragon Pool Park is the only park in Lijiang City. In fact, the entire Lijiang is a park, so Black Dragon Pool is a park within a park. There is a good place to see the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in the distance. Go take a look, the water is good. The location is in Xincheng, you can walk or take a minibus. However, the most attractive thing about Lijiang is not these attractions, but the feeling. Clear flowing water, ancient wooden houses, leisurely people, bright sunshine, and the slow flow of time. My biggest feeling in Lijiang was a strange girl’s words: Rot in Lijiang. This is a place where you can completely forget about time. The most charming place in Lijiang is at night. The standard Lijiang nightlife is spent in bars. There are many bars in Lijiang, all in the streets (in the ancient city). Generally there are three major categories. The first type is a pure bar, which usually only provides alcohol. The overall style is close to ordinary bars in big cities. Of course, there are still some differences from city bars. At least there is no loud music, and the house is also a very good wooden house. However, it seems a bit unnecessary to travel so far to visit such a bar, at least you can find such a bar in any big city. The largest number of Sichuan people can be found here. The second type is similar to Liangmuyuan. It usually sells food during the day and has a variety of specialty foods and drinks. Drinking is also available, but not much. Of course, Liangmuyuan is a typical European style, while Lijiang’s is definitely the charm of a water town in southern China plus ethnic minorities. They are usually built near the water. Personally, I think the drinks there are very interesting. I drank a very bitter tree root, white and thin, and it felt very good. Unfortunately, I forgot its name. The most common thing here is people from all over the world, all kinds of people. It's a good place to drink tea and relax. The third type is very distinctive. Such specialty bars are generally hard to find because they are not very famous and they never like to promote themselves. I know one and stayed there for three consecutive days during my second trip to Lijiang. The name of this bar is very interesting: Wang Gonggong Shelang Bar. There was a fire pit, surrounded by firewood piles, and everyone sat around casually. There were some old musical instruments that could be used. One wall was covered with photos, and there were two absolutely classic slogans: Smoking will cause impotence/Smoking will Affect breast development. There are no boxing games or dice poker here. There are people from all over the place, simply facing each other and having casual conversations. People here come from all over the world and all over the country. They don’t know each other but they can talk casually. They are all strangers. Or, you can just stare at the fire in a daze. There is a green plum wine here that feels very good, like wine, but made from green plums. Lijiang has the most various handicraft shops. Naxi men are the happiest men in the world. All labor is done by women, whether it is working in the fields, doing business to earn money, or doing housework, cooking and raising children at home. A man’s job is to drink tea, read, draw, and sing. This is probably one of the reasons why Naxi culture has been passed down for thousands of years. A man’s only job is to create art. Therefore, almost all Naxi men know some handicrafts. The most common ones are wood carvings. The general material is a wooden disc, and the most common subject is Dongba characters. In fact, Dongba characters are paintings. Others are purely abstract paintings. The carving method is bas-relief.
I saw that these woodcuts were not colored very much, or were just simple two-color and three-color, and some used burning to express the layers. The work place is in the store, the tools are very simple, and all the works are hung on the wall, so you can visit them at will. The price is also very cheap, usually 20-50RMB, with simple style and strong ethnic charm. I love watching them do it, it's very interesting. The local printing and dyeing method in Lijiang is tie-dying. Tie-dye generally uses isatis root as dye and coarse white cloth. If there is anything selling batik, it is not a local product, it is usually shipped from Dali. If Naxi people's clothes don't look good, there's no need to sell them. There are no local mineral deposits in Lijiang, so those who sell crystals are from other places. They seem to be more expensive than Chengdu, and not in good quality. The other so-called souvenir shops are not interesting. Those things are imitations that can be bought in any tourist area in Yunnan (or Sichuan). There are no fruit sellers in Lijiang Old Town, probably to prevent the peels from being thrown around. I'm not very interested in eating, so I don't know much about special snacks. Naxi’s traditional food is too greasy. Because the local water is very hard and has high mineral content, the locals are not obese and regard fatness as a beauty. The only local food I have an impression of is Lijiang Baba, which is horribly greasy. Other items such as steam pot chicken are all passed down from Dali, and there are also many fried foods. This depends on personal preference. Of course, there is also Yunnan’s specialty food - rice noodles. Personally, I think Lijiang’s rice noodles have no special characteristics. Eating in the ancient city is a bit expensive, more expensive than Chengdu, but the prices in the new city are more reasonable, about the same as Chengdu. It is recommended not to eat in the ancient city as much as possible. Personal feeling: The best season is winter, preferably after November. The sun is shining every day, and the sun in winter is very comfortable, but the sun there in summer is unbearable. It is possible to get lost in the ancient city at night. It is best not to wander around in the alleys and go directly back to Sifang Street. The entire ancient city is based on Sifang Street. Also, the TV tower can be seen from anywhere and is the best road sign. Of course, there are many police patrols at night, and you can also let them lead the way. This is the best way.
The most unmissable things in Lijiang:
1 The quiet streets of the ancient city in the early morning, the dim street lights, and the shimmering stone pavement are the most beautiful moments of the ancient city.
2 The sky is blue, the water is green, the grass is yellow, and the wind is strong. Wild ducks fly across the sky, and the sun warms the face. Lie on the grass by the sea, feel the scorching winter sun, and appreciate your own insignificance.
3 No matter what the glacier of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is, not everyone can appreciate the height of 4680M. Jump there, maybe that's the highest place you can stand on your feet.
4 Watching the dancing flames beside the fire pit in a daze, listening to the languages ??from all over the world, here, you will know the reason why Lijiang is Lijiang. Final advice:
1: Don’t be in a hurry, have enough time to experience and be in a daze. People who are in a hurry are not welcome here.
2: Don’t go during the holidays. At least, don’t go to Lijiang alone during the holiday season. Remember remember.
Lijiang travel tips:
1. It is best to travel by yourself. Especially when traveling around Lijiang, there is no need to join a group tour. Chartering a car is much better in terms of cost and convenience.
2. When taking a taxi in Lijiang, be sure to ask about the price first. Taxi management in Lijiang is chaotic. The only thing is that the price of chartered travel is basically reasonable.
3. There is no need to go to Shuhe Ancient Town, which is a few kilometers away from Lijiang City. It is just a small Lijiang Ancient Town, and the entrance fee is 30 yuan per person.
4. Food in Lijiang is expensive. Especially when chartering a car to go out for fun, don’t listen to recommendations. It is recommended that everyone go out and prepare more dry food.
5. Accommodation in Lijiang. There are about 400 inns in the ancient city, and there are all kinds of hotels and guest houses of various grades outside the ancient city. Inns with better conditions only cost about 100 yuan, while those with worse conditions cost 15 to 20 yuan.
