A news report reported the story of eight Harvard doctors who gave up the generous treatment in the United States and collectively returned to China. These eight doctors resolutely gave up their established career and achievements in the United States, and resolutely chose to return to the motherland where talents are badly needed, hoping to contribute to the construction of the motherland. They also claimed that as long as the motherland needs me, I will come back no matter how hard and tired I am!

The eight doctors are Wang Junfeng, Liu Qingsong, Wang Wenchao, Liu Jing, Zhang Xin, Zhang Na, Lin Wenchu and Ren Tao. They studied abroad in their early years and have been working in the United States since graduation. They have worked hard for more than ten years, but in the end they have achieved little. They also worked together at Harvard University. Because they are both from China, they have a very good relationship. By chance, they met Academician Kuang Guangli from Hefei Institute of Science, China Academy of Sciences. After Academician Kuang introduced the plan of China High Magnetic Field Science Center, he extended an olive branch to them, and said that now is the time when the motherland needs talents, hoping that they can work together for the country. After a short period of thinking, they resolutely chose to give up the favorable conditions of the United States and were willing to follow Academician Kuang Guangli back to China for construction.

Although the electromagnetic field construction in China was just at the beginning, neither technology nor hardware facilities could meet the research requirements. After they put into work, these doctors did not complain at all. Instead, they actively devoted their lifelong learning to solving problems, and began to build an academic chain for the motherland. This chain relied on high-intensity magnetic field scientific instruments and technologies to carry out interdisciplinary research network experiments for major diseases, and completed the combination, which enabled China to start formal electromagnetic field research and construction.

Later, when interviewed by the media, these doctors pointed out that the electromagnetic field in China has officially started, and the future is bright. We have to fight for the motherland for at least another 50 years! This rhetoric has been widely appreciated by the society. After the media asked them why they chose to go back to work, they simply replied: Only because the motherland needs me!
