Huzhou was the land of Fang Feng (whose capital is now Wu Kang, Deqing County) during the reign of Yu Xia, the fifth emperor. When Yu Xia destroyed Fang Feng, Huzhou belonged to Yangzhou until Wu Taibo and his brother Zhong Yong Ben Man Jing established the Kingdom of Wu, which was named "Wu Gou" when Shang Wen Ding was established. It is also one of the "Wu San Jue".

In the 15th year of Emperor Gaolie of Chu (the first 248 years), he moved to Huang Xie in the spring to build a city, which was later named "Yucheng County" after Zeduo. The location is Yaotou Village, Yunchao, Wuxing District.
