Now Tian Yue Academy has become a part of Pingjiang No.1 Middle School.

Approaching the mountain gate of Tian Yue Academy, two square granite eaves columns support the entrance of the gate. Above the granite doorframe, there is a plaque of the Academy, and on both sides, there is a couplet inscribed by Li, "The latitude of heaven and earth, the profound meaning of the moon". Bandu, who has been silent for more than a hundred years, has won the elegant demeanor. There is a hall in the gate, separated by wooden screens. Entering the hall, osmanthus, holly, Cycas, sisal and other plants in the garden are enjoying themselves in time. In the corner corridor, there are 14 compartments, and each compartment has 14 rooms. Stepping on the hall along the three stone steps hanging directly above the garden is the lecture hall of the academy, which is divided into three halls: front, middle and back. Eight square blue brick columns in the front hall are arranged in four horizontal rows, and the horizontal columns are decorated with wooden partition boards. On the third row of partition fans, there is a "neat and serious" block plaque with a black background, which should be an extension of the stone tablet of Yuelu Academy in Qing Dynasty. There is a wing on each side of the central hall, which used to be the long-term living room of the mountain. At that time, Peng lived here to plan an uprising. There was a memorial tablet dedicated to Confucius in front of the back hall, and there were Quzi Temple and Song Jiujun Temple in the east of the academy, which were dedicated in the Spring and Autumn Period. Li once wrote the New Quzi Temple in the Academy and the New Gentleman Temple in the Academy to educate future generations to respect the Neo-Confucianism of loyalty and filial piety.

At the beginning of 1970, with the slogan of the Cultural Revolution, the couplet plaque at the entrance of the academy was painted with lime and affixed with a red slogan. In the early 1980s, Peng's unjust case was rehabilitated, site of the pingjiang uprising was restored, and the name of the academy was known again. The huts and wing rooms, which have been used as school buildings, were vacated and arranged as exhibition rooms for historical materials of Pingjiang Uprising. Tian Yue Academy was listed as a national key cultural relic protection unit and soon became a famous red tourist attraction.
