Accommodation was arranged in 12 city, in which Tiyong and Akour stayed for 2 nights respectively. Basically, one city a day. Whether along the way or in our place of residence, we not only feasted our eyes, but also feasted our mouths.

There are no mountains in the South Island, and the mountain roads are not steep, so there is basically no need to rent off-road vehicles.

We rented two 8-seater Toyota Estima, commonly known as commercial vehicles. Each car is very suitable for two cars, and drivers can rotate, which is convenient for rest and saves money. Roads in the South Island extend in all directions. During our whole trip, we have never seen a highway. They are all ordinary roads, with smooth roads and cement or asphalt pavements. There are not many corners, and most of them are two-way one-way streets. There are two-way four lanes near some big cities, and all roads are free.

The speed limit of ordinary highways is generally100km, 50km in and around towns and 80km in mountainous highways. New Zealanders are very good at driving mountain roads. We drive 50 kilometers at most and are often overtaken by RV.

There are few cars and people on the road, so ride for free.

We often see cars and caravans dragging yachts on the road, camping in the wild and on the water, which makes us envy and hate. First of all, talk about hotels. The hotel we choose is BBH or Motel, which is the cheapest, but they are still very comfortable, neat, clean and hygienic. We enjoyed all the hotels we stayed in this time. Rooms near the lake and the sea abound, with complete basic facilities, independent bathrooms, independent kitchens, courtyards and so on. I feel that the living standard of this country has reached a considerable level, and it is not much different.

On the way from Franz Joseph to Wanaka, there is a salmon farm. When we went in, we were very angry and clamored to buy three. It was a big fish weighing five pounds. The waiter's eyes really widened when he heard this. You can imagine her surprise. After asking us twice and confirming that it was three, he politely told us, sorry, we don't have three, but we checked and found only two and a half. Then when I swiped my card, I found that many credit cards were unrecognizable locally. The domestic bank sent a text message to remind me that the use was abnormal, and everyone was busy changing cards there, which was very lively. It is estimated that the service girl must be confused by the present situation and us. Salmon is of high quality and low price, and it was salvaged from its own fish pond that day. The price is about 50 yuan per catty. When we arrived at the hotel, we went straight to sashimi. It tastes really good!

On the way from Wanaka to Queenstown, we passed a cherry farm, where we could pick our own cherries. There are five or six varieties here, pink, crimson and black. You can stand on the ground or climb on the shelf to choose food, and then weigh it when you are full, which is equivalent to 25 yuan RMB per catty. The cherry here is the best variety we have ever eaten. They are delicate, juicy and super sweet. Because it was the first time to pick cherries in a foreign country, everyone was very excited and happy to eat them. We can't help but leave a photo of a romantic couple under the cherry tree, named "Red Cherry". As the saying goes, material comes first and spirit comes second. After picking, we bought an average of six kilograms of cherries per family, which greatly exceeded the imagination of farmers. According to the regulations, each family should buy at least two kilograms. He doesn't know that we are hungry wolves. It's not enough to buy only two kilograms! We solved it all in two days. Later, everyone joked that if there is such a farm within 600 kilometers of Fiona Fang, we can consider going again.

On New Year's Eve, we went to the milford Strait and visited the scenery along the way. When we got back to Teanau, we began to prepare our own reunion dinner non-stop. This is the first time that so many friends have spent 30 years overseas together, which is unique. Especially the chefs are all men. It seems that gender equality is still far away!

In Mount Cook, we climbed Xuefeng Mountain by two helicopters. As soon as the helicopter landed on the top of the mountain, everyone's nerves became excited. That is the snow peak in summer! Adults and children can't help rolling, jumping, chasing and "attacking" in the snow.

The wonder of South Island is that at low altitude, you can enjoy the snow and glaciers. This is also one of the few in the world.

At the last stop in Akaloa, we went swimming with dolphins, which was very expensive. The price was 150 NZD/person. But for people who love animals, it is worthwhile to have such a few times in life. We took a cruise to the deep sea and then stopped. The staff began to make all kinds of noises to attract dolphins. Those natural elves are very curious and will swim over soon to find out. They jump, roll and shuttle among us, pass by us and approach the rulers. Our excited cries echo the sweet songs of dolphins, which set each other off. Together, they wrote an ode to joy.

In addition to the above pleasant experiences, accidents and unpleasant things are inevitable. But from another perspective, it is also a rare experience in life. Almost all our accidents were concentrated on cars, and all four cars broke down.

On the first day, because we were not used to driving on the left, one of our cars hit someone else's car and took full responsibility. Of course, we don't know how to deal with it, but the other party is a local and seems unfamiliar. At first, we were very nervous and afraid that we would run away. Later, I was relieved to see that we were constantly communicating with the car rental agency. Interestingly, my words amused them: "New Zealand is so beautiful that we were too busy looking at the scenery to see your car! This can't blame us! " . I haven't used this ... that sentence pattern for many years. I am so proud to have used it here once and achieved unexpected results. Soon everyone was talking and laughing, hooking up and taking photos as a souvenir. Of course, the accident can be solved by a few phone calls. At 5: 30 the next morning, we set off from picton, picton, and drove along Queen Charlotte Avenue. It's not far from downtown, so we came down to take pictures. We can't start it after the flameout. After judging that it was a battery problem, we had to continue waving for help. At least a dozen cars stopped and none of them crossed the Longhe River. The last road maintenance worker, fully equipped, provided us with a river dragon, but his car was too powerful to give us light. He waved the car to stop. The car that stopped first had too little horsepower to catch fire, so he had to shake it again and finally caught fire, but it completely changed our trip that day. Also the next day, another car of ours didn't notice the speed limit when passing through a small town, and was fined 1000 RMB for speeding. I hope everyone will pay special attention to the speed limit warning before entering a town.

Later, in the headwind corner of the west port, we got off to play, and forgot to turn off the lights after the flameout, so we couldn't turn on the lights any more. Then I repeated my old trick and waved for help. I'm so tired. However, everyone is in a particularly good mood, taking the opportunity to practice English, talk about current events and chat with rescuers.

The fourth car stopped at the slope parking lot and was brushed by another car leaving the parking lot. The driver is also a tourist from China. Because there was no signal on the mobile phone at that time, I hope the other party can leave us more information so that we can provide it to the car rental company. But the other side began to be tough and refused to cooperate, which caused a little unhappiness. Unexpectedly, all this happened to my compatriots. I can't help but want to say to my compatriots, "When you go out, you must be friendly and peaceful."

Our car was also hit by someone else;

I was once honored to be stopped by the New Zealand police and let me blow. It's not enough to finish blowing Let me count, but it's not enough to count to 1, 2, 3. I have to count to 10. We have been complained once by the police and once by the driver on the grounds that the driving skills are poor and it is not safe to drive. Although there is no fine, we also remind everyone not to drive indiscriminately.

I can't walk on the glacier. The information at that time was wrong. At the foot of the mountain, I found that I had to buy a ticket in town first. After walking so far, everyone is exhausted. Give it up.

I bought a whale ticket for Zhang Guan in Kaikula, and it was cancelled because of the bad weather. What a pity.

Nine, special tips:

Most motels and BBH have kitchens or public kitchens. It is not difficult to go abroad for the first time, because they can cook by themselves. 14 days, we only ate out once.

I brought enough cooking condiments, more than 60 bags of pickles, hot pot ingredients, Pixian bean paste, Chili oil and pepper powder. I cook it myself every day, but it's still Sichuan style.

Put down your stomach and eat beef, mutton and salmon from New Zealand. Salmon is especially fresh. We all went directly to the salmon farm on the same day, and the price was around RMB per catty in 50 yuan.
