Is there a charge for sending messages to Weibo via SMS after the SMS is bound to Tencent Weibo?
The reason why Weibo wants to limit 140 characters is because the most characters sent by mobile phones are 140 (Weibo usually defaults to 140 Chinese characters after entering China). It can be seen that Weibo has been inseparable from mobile phone applications since its birth, and it is the biggest bright spot in the Internet form. Weibo's great significance to the Internet lies in establishing a seamless connection between mobile phones and Internet applications, cultivating the habit of using mobile phones to surf the Internet, enhancing the interaction between mobile phones and the Internet, and enabling mobile phone users to smoothly transition to wireless Internet users. At present, the combination of mobile phone and Weibo application has three forms:
1. via SMS and MMS. The form of short MMS is to cooperate with mobile operators, and the short MMS fee spent by users is charged by operators. This form covers a wide range of people, and Weibo can update it as long as it can send short messages, but the update cost is too high for users, and the disadvantage of limiting the size of MMS to 50K seriously affects the clarity of the sent pictures. The most important thing is that this method can only provide updates, and you can't see others' updates. This one-way information transmission greatly reduces users' participation and interaction, so that mobile phone users can only experience an amateur Weibo.
2. Through the WAP version of the website. Every Weibo website basically has its own WAP version, and users can connect to it by logging in to WAP or installing a client. In this form, as long as the mobile phone can access the Internet, it can connect to Weibo and update, browse, reply and comment. The required fee is the traffic fee used in the browsing process. However, at present, the domestic GPRS traffic fee is still relatively high and the network speed is relatively slow. If you want to upload a bigger picture, the speed is very slow.
3. Through the mobile client. There are two kinds of mobile phone clients:
One is a quick version based on WAP developed by Weibo website. Users directly connect to the beautified and optimized WAP version of Weibo website through the client. This form of user behavior is mainly realized through initiative, that is, users only open the client when they want to update and browse Weibo, which is actually equivalent to adding a shortcut to the Weibo website on the mobile phone, and the advantages and disadvantages of using it are basically the same as WAP websites.
The other is a third-party client developed by using the API provided by Weibo website. There are few such clients in China, and the internationally famous clients are gravity and Hesine of twitter. Gravity is specially developed for twitter and needs to log in through active networking. But the operating architecture and interface design are reasonable, and the user experience is very good. Unfortunately, only S60 system is supported at present. He Xin, developed by a domestic company, now supports not only twitter, but also mainstream Weibo. Different from other clients, He Xin's client uses IP push technology to provide Weibo update and sending channels, which can not only greatly improve the speed of users updating Weibo, but more importantly, push Weibo messages to users' mobile phones, so that users can browse and interact without actively logging in to Weibo. He Xin supports many system platforms, but the disadvantage is that the experience on non-intelligent computers is not very good.
Compared with short MMS and WAP, the form of client is more in line with the development trend of wireless Internet. Although the current mobile phone system platform is relatively complex, it is very difficult to develop clients, and the overall performance and experience of all clients on non-smart phones are not good, with the gradual popularization of smart phones, the improvement of wireless network speed and the downward adjustment of traffic tariffs, the combination of mobile phones and Weibo will surely become closer and closer. When cottage phones can also enjoy Weibo, I believe that Weibo at that time will bring many revolutionary changes to the Internet and 3G applications.
