How to send text messages in outlook2010
Create a new text message
1. On the "File" menu, click "New", and then click "SMS".
2. Enter the recipient's email address or mobile phone number in the "Recipient" box. To search for recipients in the address book, click the "To" button.
3. Type the information in the text of the message.
4. If necessary, you can insert emoticons into the message. On the Text Messages tab, in the Insert group, click Emoticon String, and then click the emoticon that you want to insert.
·Specify the maximum number of text messages
Each text message has a default character limit, which is specified by the mobile phone messaging service provider. If you type more characters than this limit in a text message, the extra characters will be automatically moved to a new message. You can see in the preview pane the total number of messages the original message has been split into, as well as the content of each message.
You can specify the maximum number of text messages sent at one time.
1. On the "SMS" tab, in the "Options" group, enter the required number in the "Maximum number of messages" box.
2. For messages whose number of split messages exceeds this number, the extra messages will not be sent and will be displayed with a shadow in the preview pane.
·Send a text message
To send a created text message, you need to specify its recipients. You can select recipients from an address book or enter recipients directly in the message's To box.
1. Enter the recipient information.
Please do one of the following.
(1) Select the recipient from the address book
·On the "SMS" tab, in the "Name" group, click "Address Book".
·Select the desired address book from the drop-down list. You can use any address book, including the Global Address List (GAL), to obtain recipient information.
·Select the desired names and click the "To" button.
Tip You can search for recipient information by typing a name in the Search box.
·Click "OK".
(2) Directly enter the recipient's name
You can directly enter the recipient's information in the "Recipient" box in one of the following three formats:
·Recipient’s mobile phone number.
·Recipient's email address
·Recipient's last name
If you type part of the recipient's name, you can use AutoComplete Function completes messages before sending them.
2. Click "Send".
After the text message is successfully sent, it will appear in the Sent Items folder and will display next to the subject title to indicate that it is a text message.
Note There must be at least one valid recipient in the To, Cc, or Bcc box before a text message can be sent. Additionally, the message body cannot be empty.
·Use automatic name completion (AutoComplete)
If you typed part of the recipient's name in the To box, use AutoComplete before sending the message. Use traditional typing to complete names.
1. In the "Name" group of the "SMS" tab, click "Check Name". The Check Names dialog box lists possible recipient names that are close to the partial name you entered.
2. Select the correct recipient name and click "OK".
If there are multiple partially entered names in the To box, AutoComplete will sequentially list a column of possible names for each partially entered name. All valid addresses and mobile phone numbers are underlined.
·Save text messages
You can save new text messages in one of the following three ways:
·Click Save on the Quick Access Toolbar " button.
·On the File menu, click Save.
·Press Alt F, then A.
If you close a message window that contains unsaved text or media, you will be prompted to save the message. Click Yes to save and close the window, No to close the window without saving, or Cancel to return to the information window.
If you click Yes, the information will be automatically saved to the Drafts folder. The subject of a draft message is the first 30 characters (including spaces) in the message body.
·Open the draft of the text message
1. In the navigation pane (Navigation pane: the column on the left of the main Outlook window, which includes windows such as "Shortcuts" or "Mail" pane and contains shortcuts or folders in each pane. Click a folder to display the entries in the folder. Click the Drafts folder. All draft messages are indicated by next to the topic title.
2. Double-click the MMS message you want to open, or use the arrow keys to select it and press Enter.
