5. Coins are perforated, cracked, deformed, worn and oxidized, and the characters, denomination figures and patterns are ambiguous.

Every bank can exchange residual coins, as long as the residual coins meet the requirements. Article 4 of the Measures of the People's Bank of China for Converting Incomplete and Contaminated Renminbi stipulates: First, the converted residual currency should be able to distinguish the authenticity, with the remaining denomination reaching more than three quarters (including three quarters), and the incomplete and defaced Renminbi can be fully exchanged.

Secondly, the authenticity can be distinguished, and the remaining denomination is less than one-half (including one-half) to three-quarters. The damaged and defiled RMB with patterns and characters can be connected as it is and exchanged at half the amount. Thirdly, if the exchange amount is less than a penny, it will not be exchanged. If five cents are exchanged for half the amount, two cents will be exchanged. If there are oil stains, chemicals and other incomplete or defaced coins that affect the bank staff to distinguish authenticity, they will not be exchanged.
