The slogan of the 31st Summer Universiade is Chengdu Achieves Dreams.

The 31st Summer Universiade is the third time that Mainland China has hosted the Summer Universiade after the 2001 Beijing Universiade and the 2011 Shenzhen Universiade. It is also the first time that Western China has hosted a World Comprehensive Games. . ***There are 18 sports events including basketball, volleyball, track and field, and swimming.

More than 10,000 athletes and officials from about 170 countries and regions will attend the event in Chengdu. The 31st Summer Universiade was originally scheduled to be held in Chengdu on June 26, 2022. On December 13, 2018, Chengdu won the right to host the 2021 Summer Universiade.

Preparation work:

Love Chengdu and welcome the Universiade. Chengdu will welcome the Universiade with young smiling faces, unrestrained enthusiasm, thoughtful services and complete facilities. In December 2018, the China University Sports Association, Chengdu City and the International University Sports Federation signed an agreement of intent to host the 2021 Summer Universiade.

Since then, Chengdu has established a "Universiade" Preparatory Working Committee with the mayor as the director, and initiated subsequent bids and preparatory work. The Chengdu Organizing Committee of the 2021 Summer Universiade has studied and determined the location of the main venue for the opening ceremony and the Universiade Village, and has basically determined 18 competition events such as track and field, swimming, and basketball, and 41 competition and training venues.
