Location of Hohhot new airport

Hohhot new airport is located in Hohhot and Linger County.

Hohhot Lesheng International Airport is positioned as an important domestic trunk airport, a regional hub airport, a first-class airport and the main alternate airport of the Capital Airport. At present, the runway taxiway system and the main building of the terminal building of the new airport project aim to meet the goal of 28 million passengers and 320,000 tons of cargo and mail throughput in 2030.

The corridor, freight and catering of the terminal are designed to meet the goal of 22 million passengers and 200,000 tons of cargo and mail throughput in 2025. The main construction contents include: two new long-distance runways in the north and south, the slope index 4F of the south runway flight area is 3,800 meters long and 60 meters wide, and the slope index 4E of the north runway flight area is 3,400 meters long and 45 meters wide; Newly built 320,000 square meters terminal building and 124 platforms.

Design concept of Hohhot new airport

The terminal building of Hohhot Lesheng International Airport is a building with one basement and three floors above ground, which belongs to the corridor structure and includes two functional divisions, domestic and international. The shape of the terminal building uses the image of "saddle" as a metaphor for the beautiful vision of the nation taking off on horseback and the good wishes of "taking the lead, being safe and auspicious".

The facade and interior decoration fully adopt Mongolian cultural symbols such as "Pan Chang" and "Cross Brocade", and five traditional national colors of red, yellow, blue, green and white are used in color, which not only embodies national cultural elements and regional cultural characteristics, but also combines traditional culture with the characteristics of the times and expresses distinctive national characteristics.
