Chaoyang No.2 Middle School was founded in 1960. 1995 with the approval of the municipal government, a full-time senior high school was established on the basis of the former high school attached to Chaoyang Normal University. It is a national school for training sports reserve talents and the first batch of demonstration ordinary high schools in Liaoning Province. The school covers an area of 46 165 square meters, with a building area of 3266 1 square meter. There are three teaching buildings, 1 comprehensive building, 1 student apartment, 1 gymnasium, 300m plastic track and a green artificial lawn playground.

At present, the school has 30 special classrooms, 64 multimedia classrooms and a campus TV station, including a high-standard computer room, an electronic reading room, a physical and chemical laboratory, a multi-functional lecture hall and a teacher-oriented R&D center.
