So, volunteers

I once saw a saying, "A strong teenager makes a strong country. I don't need to say the meaning of the first half sentence, but the second half sentence probably means that China is now influenced by some stars, and boys are becoming more and more feminine and unmanly, even when we become the most important labor force in the country.

In fact, as a contemporary youth, I have always been disgusted with this sentence. We young people in China have never been mothers. It's just that some people's distorted aesthetics have attracted many people's attention. You said that they are also working hard, and all kinds of desperate efforts are just to get ahead. But who isn't? They practiced dancing late at night, and we studied hard at the cold window. They shout when they are tired and injured, and some people bite their teeth when their bones are broken. They work hard for themselves, while some people work hard for all the people of China and this country.

They may all be peers, and some people just try not to show off and gain sympathy, but their great achievements are really the backbone that those people can't cross.

The sudden outbreak of the epidemic caught people off guard. All kinds of angels support the struggle, which makes this 9.6 million square kilometers of land full of human touch. In the spring of 2020, the taste of the year has faded, but I feel that human feelings have never been so strong. Seeing the beautiful retrograde from the news again and again, I was moved beyond words.

Thought of the word "volunteer".

I admit that my academic level is not high and I can do very little. I took my temperature at a residential monitoring point for two hours, and I tried my best. Today, the hail in Jinan increased the wind, and cold air jumped straight into people's bones. Someone asked me, "How much money can you have on duty here?" The moment the cold hail hit me, I suddenly hesitated. What have I done?

Not a penny. On Valentine's Day night, I give up my warm room, take risks, stand in the cold wind, carry hail, and take my temperature in the street that others can't avoid. What's the advantage?

Until now, I haven't figured it out. Apart from a dry sentence of "hard work" and forcing myself to say "I am a volunteer, better than others", what have I got?

At the age of twenty, I risked my life to be a volunteer. In the eyes of others, I can look like a fool, but they didn't say it.

But I can't seem to find any complaints. I think I am from China, a young man from China. I am afraid of death, but I think I am willing to do my best in front of my country. Even if it is a trivial matter, I am willing to strive for it. Not for money, not for fame. I don't know what I'm doing. Maybe I just want to prove that young people in China are never mothers.

In the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, I put my name in the newspaper. Maybe I wouldn't have such an honor. If it comes true, I may really wake up laughing.
