Tasks of Chongqing Women's Federation

Chongqing Women's Federation is a mass organization of women from all walks of life led by Chongqing Municipal Committee and All-China Women's Federation. It is the bridge and link between the party and the government and the majority of women, and it is one of the important pillars of state power. Its main tasks are:

(a) around the party's central work, to guide the city's women's federations at all levels in accordance with the Constitution of the All-China Women's Federation and the resolutions of the women's congress, to carry out women's and children's work and contact group members.

(2) to investigate and study the situation and problems of women and children in urban and rural areas of the city, put forward decision-making suggestions to the municipal party Committee and the municipal government in time, and assist the party Committee in managing the cadres of women's federations at lower levels.

(3) Organize and mobilize the broad masses of women in the city to further emancipate their minds, update their concepts and actively participate in reform, opening up and economic construction. Guide and promote the development of women's work in the city.

(four) to guide the propaganda work of women's federations at all levels, educate and guide women to enhance the spirit of "four selves" and "four haves", commend and publicize advanced women, and carry out training for women cadres.

(five) on behalf of the city's women to participate in the democratic supervision of state and social affairs. In accordance with the relevant provisions, recommend outstanding female cadres to the Municipal Party Committee, participate in the formulation of laws and regulations on women and children, implement the China Women's Development Program and China Children's Development Program, the Law on the Protection of Women's Rights and Interests, the Law on the Protection of Minors and other laws and regulations, and safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of women and children.

(six) do a good job in family education, UNICEF and other work, take the lead in coordinating and promoting all sectors of society to serve children.

(7) Strengthen contacts with women from all ethnic groups and walks of life, actively develop friendship with women from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and overseas Chinese, and promote the great cause of the reunification of the motherland. Develop friendly exchanges, enhance friendship and strengthen cooperation with women from all over the world.

(eight) responsible for party building in organs, enterprises and institutions (including discipline inspection and supervision), and do a good job in the ideological and political work of employees.

(nine) to guide and coordinate the subordinate units to carry out various business activities according to local conditions and develop the cause of women and children in our city.

(ten) to undertake other tasks assigned by the municipal party committee, municipal government and superior women's federations.
