The school gate was inscribed by Xu Zhongde, a famous person in Qingmuchuan. Anyone who has read Ye Guangqin's novel Qingmuchuan is familiar with Xu Zhongde.

When we entered Fu Jen Middle School, an old man watched us in the guard room. Colleagues carefully asked the old man, "Is this school still in use?" The old man smiled: "There are many children going to school."

The gate is facing the auditorium, which is of European style. It is said that all the craftsmen built were invited from Shanghai. During the construction, Wei Futang, a big bandit, came to supervise the work every day. Although he didn't have much culture, he was full of pious beliefs about education and culture. He stubbornly believed that building schools and setting up education would benefit one party, and the money he earned from selling opium would be used on the right path.

Fu Jen Middle School is not a big school. It is said that the slogans on the doorframes are old things, such as "popularizing culture" and "developing education". These slogans are not out of date now, and the bandit Wei Futang made great efforts to popularize education at that time. The school implements free education and distributes textbooks free of charge. However, at that time, some farmers didn't understand and didn't support it, saying that children could still herd sheep at home, so there was one less helper in school and they were determined not to let their children go to school. The buildings on the campus are simple and beautiful. On the huge screen are the four characters "Upholding Taoism and respecting benevolence" put forward by Hanzhong Commissioner in January 1945. On the opposite side is the flag platform of Fu Jen Middle School, which reads "Xia Pi Ze Ying". I stood on the flag platform and took a picture, feeling sacred and solemn. I couldn't help but think of the school motto of Fu Jen Middle School: "Being spontaneous is the Tao, and cultivating is the teaching". As a school motto, its connotation is extremely profound.

Today, the courses offered in this middle school before liberation are all fashionable. The bandit Wei Futang's attitude of respecting teachers and attaching importance to teaching is sincere. The monthly salary for teachers is seven to fifteen silver dollars, which exceeds the salary of professors in Chengdu University. He also stipulated that the local leather shoes factory should make a pair of leather shoes for teachers every year, and if a pig is killed in the territory of Qingmuchuan, three catties of meat should be given to the school to improve the lives of teachers and students. This middle school accepts not only local students, but also foreign students, all of which are free education. The students who pass the university are funded by Wei Futang for all the expenses of their university. It's just a pity that such a legendary figure was executed on the playground of Fu Jen Middle School in April 1952. I don't know if he was sorry or angry when he faced Fu Jen Middle School founded by himself.
