(1) Work-study program

Work-study program refers to the social practice activities that students use their spare time to obtain legal remuneration through their own labor under the organization of the school and use it to improve their study and living conditions.

Students who take part in work-study programs should not affect their studies. In principle, they should not exceed 8 hours a week and 40 hours a month. Students who take part in work-study programs in fixed positions in the school will be paid monthly by the school. In principle, the remuneration for working 40 hours a month is not lower than the minimum wage standard or the minimum living standard of residents set by the local government or relevant departments, and can be appropriately floated. (2) Free education for normal students.

Since the freshmen enrolled in the fall of 2007, the state has implemented free education for normal students in six normal universities directly under the Ministry of Education: Beijing Normal University, East China Normal University, Northeast Normal University, Huazhong Normal University, Shaanxi Normal University and Southwest University. During the period of free education, normal students are exempt from tuition, accommodation and living expenses.

(3) Tuition fee remission
