The car was scrapped when it was flooded. Not necessarily, but it depends on the soaking condition. There are generally six levels of flooded vehicles.

1 grade: the accumulated water has just not reached the vehicle chassis, which has little impact on the electrical equipment in the vehicle.

Level 2: The accumulated water is less than half of the wheel. For a car with a low body, the water level in the car may affect the motor used to adjust the seat of the car and the electrical components such as heating and ventilation.

Grade 3: The accumulated water barely passed the tire. At this time, the water level in the car will completely flood the seat cushion and central armrest area of the vehicle seat, and at the same time affect a large number of electrical equipment.

Grade 4: the accumulated water did not reach the engine compartment cover, the water level exceeded the seat surface and headlights and taillights, the instrument panel was soaked, most of the engine was soaked, and the trunk was flooded.

Level 5: The accumulated water has never passed the engine compartment cover, and almost all the electrical equipment in the car will be affected by the accumulated water at this moment.

Grade 6: If the accumulated water does not reach the roof, the roof and sunroof module of the vehicle will be affected, and all parts in the vehicle will be spared.

From a technical point of view, the above three kinds of flooded vehicles can be repaired to a certain extent, but even if they are repaired, there are serious hidden dangers. The longer the soaking time, the higher the probability of failure, just like a watch falling into the water. Even if it is taken apart to dry, the watch will still break down and cannot be completely repaired. Scraping is also a good choice if soaking in water is serious.

What if the car is flooded?

1. Never start the vehicle after it enters the water (otherwise all losses will be at your own risk);

2. Take photos on the spot and take the license plate number at the same time (which can be used as evidence for claim settlement);

3. Call the insurance company to report the case (it must be reported within 24 hours);

4. Call the rescue trailer and tell the insurance company which repair shop to put the car in so that the surveyor can investigate;

5. When waiting for rescue, if possible, turn off the vehicle (pull the negative pole), put it in the air, and push the vehicle to a safe place;

6. Before maintenance, report the loss to the insurance company as required.
