What can I do to build a two-oriented society?

Two-oriented society refers to a "resource-saving and environment-friendly society". A resource-saving society means that the entire social economy is based on resource conservation, and its core is resource conservation. An environmentally friendly society is a social form in which man and nature exist in harmony. Its core connotation is the coordinated and sustainable development of human production and consumption activities and the natural ecosystem. The Fifth Plenary Session of the 16th CPC Central Committee for the first time identified building a resource-saving and environment-friendly society as a strategic task in the medium- and long-term planning for national economic and social development.

An environmentally friendly society is composed of environmentally friendly technologies, environmentally friendly products, environmentally friendly enterprises, environmentally friendly industries, environmentally friendly schools, environmentally friendly communities, etc. Mainly include: production and consumption methods that are beneficial to the environment; pollution-free or low-pollution technologies, processes and products; various development and construction activities that have no adverse impact on the environment and human health; productivity layout that meets ecological conditions; less pollution and low pollution The industrial structure of losses; the sustainable development of green industries; the social fashion and cultural atmosphere in which everyone cares about the environment.

Compared with developed countries, China’s resource utilization efficiency is very low. According to statistics, China's GDP accounts for 4% of the world's total, while its consumption of coal, iron, aluminum, etc. accounts for more than 30% of the world's total. In recent years, with the rapid development of our country's economy, it has put considerable pressure on the local environment. With the development of economy, resource constraints have become more and more prominent. Economic development cannot be at the expense of the environment, but must be based on optimizing structure, improving efficiency, reducing consumption and protecting the environment. Under this circumstance, the country’s goal of building a “two-oriented society” in the central reform pilot zone is a strategic consideration with overall significance.
