Original text of stereotyped writing by the opposition party

Comrade Kaifeng ⑴ just talked about the purpose of today’s meeting. What I want to talk about now is: how subjectivism and sectarianism use the Party’s stereotyped writing (2) as their propaganda tool or form of expression. We oppose subjectivism and sectarianism. If the stereotyped party writing is not liquidated, then they will still have a place to hide, and they can still hide. If we also overthrow stereotyped Party writing, then even if we finally "generate an army" to subjectivism and sectarianism, and expose these two monsters in their true colors, and "rats crossing the street, everyone shouts to beat them up", these two monsters will still be defeated. It's easy to eliminate.

It doesn’t matter if a person writes Party stereotypes only for himself to read. If you show it to a second person, the number of people will be doubled, which is already harmful. If it still needs to be posted on the wall, or mimeographed, or published in a newspaper, or printed into a book, then it will be a big problem because it can affect many people. But people who write Party stereotypes always want to write for many people to read. This must be exposed and overthrown.

Party stereotypes are also a kind of foreign stereotypes. Lu Xun had long opposed this foreign stereotyped writing (4). Why do we call it stereotyped party writing? This is because in addition to being foreign-style, it is also a bit rustic. It can also be considered a creation! Who says our people have no creativity at all?

Party stereotypes have a long history in our party; especially during the Agrarian Revolution, they sometimes became serious.

From a historical perspective, the Party’s stereotyped writing was a reaction to the May 4th Movement.

During the May 4th Movement, a new group of people opposed classical Chinese, advocated vernacular, opposed old dogma, and advocated science and democracy. These were all right. At that time, the movement was lively, progressive, and revolutionary. The ruling class at that time used Confucius' teachings to teach students and treated Confucius' teachings as religious dogma to force the people to believe in it. Those who wrote articles all used classical Chinese. In short, the articles and education of the ruling class and its helpers at that time were all stereotyped and dogmatic, regardless of their content or form. This is the old stereotype and old dogma. Exposing the ugliness of this old stereotype and old dogma to the people and calling on the people to rise up against the old stereotype and old dogma was a great achievement during the May Fourth Movement. The May 4th Movement also had great achievements related to the fight against imperialism; the struggle against old stereotypes and old dogma was also one of its great achievements. But later on, foreign stereotypes and dogma emerged. Some people in our party who have violated Marxism have developed such foreign stereotypes and dogma and become subjectivism, sectarianism and party stereotypes. These are all new stereotypes and new dogma. This new stereotype and new dogma have become deeply ingrained in the minds of many of our comrades, making it even more difficult for us to carry out reform today. From this point of view, the lively, progressive, revolutionary movement that opposed the old stereotypes and old dogma of feudalism during the "May 4th" period was later developed by some people into its opposition, giving rise to the new stereotypes and new dogma . They are not lively things but rigid things; they are not forward things but retrograde things; they are not revolutionary things but things that hinder revolution. This means that foreign stereotyped writing or Party stereotyped writing is the original reactionary nature of the May Fourth Movement. But the May Fourth Movement itself also had shortcomings. Many leading figures at that time did not yet have the critical spirit of Marxism, and the methods they used were generally bourgeois methods, that is, formalist methods. They are right to oppose the old stereotypes and old dogmas and advocate science and democracy. But they do not have the critical spirit of historical materialism when it comes to the current situation, history, and foreign things. The so-called bad means absolutely bad, and everything is bad; the so-called good means absolutely good, and everything is good. This formalistic way of looking at problems influenced the subsequent development of the movement. The development of the May Fourth Movement was divided into two trends. Some people inherited the scientific and democratic spirit of the May 4th Movement and transformed it on the basis of Marxism. This is what the Communists and a number of non-party Marxists did. Another group of people took the path of the bourgeoisie, which was the development of formalism to the right. But there is no consensus within the Communist Party. There are also some people who are biased. They do not hold Marxism firmly and make formalist mistakes. This is subjectivism, sectarianism and party stereotypes. This is the formalist tendency. The development of "left".

From this point of view, the Party’s stereotyped writing is, on the one hand, the reaction of the positive factors of the May Fourth Movement, and on the other hand, it is the inheritance, continuation or development of the negative factors of the May Fourth Movement. It is not accidental. It is good for us to understand this. If it was revolutionary and necessary to oppose the old stereotyped writing and old dogmatism during the May Fourth Movement, then it is also revolutionary and necessary for us to use Marxism to criticize the new stereotyped writing and new dogmatism today. If we had not opposed the old stereotypes and dogmatism during the May Fourth Movement, the Chinese people would not have been able to liberate their minds from the constraints of the old stereotypes and dogmatism, and China would have no hope of freedom and independence. This work was only the beginning during the May 4th Movement. It will take a lot of effort to completely free the people of the country from the rule of old stereotypes and old dogmatism. It will still be a major project on the road to revolutionary transformation in the future. If we do not oppose the new stereotypes and new dogmatism today, the thinking of the Chinese people will be bound by another formalism. As for the poison of stereotyped Party writing and the dogmatic mistakes committed by some comrades in our party (of course only a few), if we do not get rid of them, then the vivid revolutionary spirit will not be able to enlighten those who adopt an incorrect attitude towards Marxism. If bad habits cannot be eradicated, true Marxism cannot be widely disseminated and developed; and the influence of old stereotypes and old dogma among the people of the country, as well as the influence of foreign stereotypes and foreign dogmas among many people in the country, cannot be effectively carried out. The struggle will not achieve the purpose of destroying and clarifying.

Subjectivism, sectarianism and stereotyped party writing are all anti-Marxist. They are not needed by the proletariat, but by the exploiting class. These things in our party are reflections of petty bourgeois ideas. China is a country with an extremely large number of petty bourgeoisie elements. Our party is surrounded by this vast class, and a large number of our party members are from this class. They all cannot help but drag a long or short path. The tail of the petty bourgeoisie has joined the party. If the fanaticism and one-sidedness of petty bourgeois revolutionaries are not controlled and transformed, they will easily produce subjectivism and sectarianism. One of its manifestations is foreign stereotyped writing, or stereotyped party writing.

It is not easy to clean up and clean these things. It must be done properly, that is, reasoned well. If the reasoning is done well and appropriately, it will be effective. The first way to reason is to give the sick person a strong stimulus, shout at them, and say, "You are sick!" This will shock the patient into a sweat, and then call them for treatment.

Now let’s analyze the disadvantages of stereotyped party writing. Let's also imitate the writing style of the Eight-Part Part Article ⑸ and create an "Eight-legged Part" to fight fire with fire. Let's call it the Eight Deadly Sins.

The first crime of stereotyped party writing is: empty talk without substance. Some of our comrades like to write long articles, but they have little content. They are really "lazy women's bound feet, long and smelly". Why does it have to be so long and so empty? There is only one explanation, which is that he was determined not to be watched by the masses. Because it is long and empty, people shake their heads when they see it. How can they continue to read it? They have no choice but to bully naive people, spread bad influence among them and create bad habits. On June 22 last year, when the Soviet Union launched such a large-scale anti-aggression war, Stalin published a speech on July 3, which was only as long as an editorial in our Liberation Daily. If our master had written it, it would have been incredible, at least tens of thousands of words. Now that we are in a war period, we should study how to write shorter and more concise articles. Although there is no war in Yan'an yet, the army is fighting at the front every day, and the rear is also busy with work. This article is too long, who can read it? Some comrades also like to write long reports at the front. They worked hard to write it and sent it, and the purpose is for us to read it. But how dare you look at it? Long and empty is not good, but short and empty is good? Not good either. We should avoid all empty words. But the main and first task is to quickly throw those long, smelly, lazy women's bound feet into the trash can. Or someone might say: Isn't "Das Kapital" very long? So what? This is easy to handle, just keep watching. As the saying goes: "Sing the same song on the mountain you go to." It is also said: "Eat according to the food and tailor it to suit the situation." Whatever we do must be handled according to the situation, and the same is true for articles and speeches. What we object to is the stereotyped tone of empty talk that has no substance. We do not mean that everything should be short.

War times certainly require short articles, but especially articles with substance. The last thing we should not do and what we should object to the most is articles that make no sense. The same goes for speeches. Speeches that are full of empty words and have nothing to say must stop.

The second crime of stereotyped party members is: putting on airs to scare people. Some party stereotypes not only talk empty talk, but also pretend to be deliberately scary, which contains very bad toxins. It can be said that it is childish to talk empty words without saying anything; to be pretentious in order to scare people is not only childish, but also simply a rogue. Lu Xun once criticized this kind of people. He said: "Insults and intimidations are not fighting." ⑺Scientific things are not afraid of criticism at any time, because science is the truth and we are not afraid of refutation. Subjectivism and sectarianism are reflected in the party's stereotyped articles and speeches, but they are afraid of being refuted and are very timid, so they rely on pretense to scare others; they think that by scaring others, they will shut up, and they can "return to the court victoriously" "Yes. Such pretentious things cannot reflect the truth, but hinder it. The truth does not pretend to be scary, it just goes on speaking and doing it honestly. In the past, many comrades often used two terms in their articles and speeches: one was called "cruel struggle" and the other was called "ruthless attack." This method is absolutely necessary when used against enemies or hostile ideas, but wrong when used against one's own comrades. Enemies and hostile ideas often sneak into the party, as stated in the fourth article of the concluding remarks of "A Brief History of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (Bolsheviks)". For such people, there is no doubt that cruel struggle or ruthless attacks should be used, because the bad guys are using this method to deal with the party. If we are still tolerant to them, we will play into the bad guys' schemes. But we cannot use the same means to deal with comrades who occasionally make mistakes; for such comrades, we must use the methods of criticism and self-criticism. This is what is said in the fifth article of the concluding remarks of "A Brief History of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (Bolsheviks)" method. In the past, the reason why our comrades talked about their "cruel struggle" and "merciless attacks" to these comrades was that on the one hand there was no object of analysis, and on the other hand it was just to show off and scare people. No matter who you are dealing with, it is unacceptable to use pretense as a way to scare people. Because this kind of intimidating tactic is of no use to the enemy and can only harm comrades. This kind of scare tactic is a common method used by the exploiting class and the lumpenproletariat. The proletariat does not need such methods. The proletariat has only one sharpest and most effective weapon, and that is the scientific attitude of serious combat. The Communist Party does not feed on scaring people, but feeds on the truth of Marxism-Leninism, on seeking truth from facts, and on science. As for using pretense to achieve reputation and status, that is an even more despicable idea, needless to say. In short, any organization making decisions or issuing instructions, any comrade writing articles or making speeches must rely on the truth of Marxism-Leninism and their usefulness. Only by relying on this can we win the victory of the revolution, and everything else is useless.

The third crime of stereotyped party writing is: aiming without target, without looking at the target. A few years ago, on the wall of Yan'an, I saw a slogan like this: "Workers and peasants unite to fight for victory in the Anti-Japanese War." The meaning of this slogan is not bad, but the second stroke of the worker's "I" character is not written straight, but " After two twists and turns, the character "—ㄣ—" was written. What about herringbone? On the right side, three strokes are added in one stroke to form the character "[人彡]". There is no doubt that this comrade was a student of the ancient literati, but it is a bit inexplicable that he wrote on the wall of Yan'an during the Anti-Japanese War. Probably what he meant was that he swore not to be seen by ordinary people, otherwise it would be difficult to get an explanation. If Communist Party members really want to do propaganda, they must look at the target audience and think about who their articles, speeches, conversations, and writings are intended for. Otherwise, it is tantamount to making up their minds not to be read. , don’t want anyone to listen. Many people often think that what they write and talk about can be understood and understood by others. In fact, this is not the case at all, because what they write and talk about is stereotyped Party writing. How can others understand it? The phrase "playing the lute to a cow" contains the meaning of ridiculing the object. If we remove this meaning and put in the meaning of respecting the object, then we will only have the meaning of ridiculing the piano player. Why not just watch the object play randomly? What's more, this is Party stereotyped writing. It sounds like an old crow, but it insists on shouting at the people.

When you shoot an arrow, you need to look at the target, and when you play the piano, you need to look at the audience. Can you write an article or give a speech without looking at the readers or the audience? No matter who we make friends with, if we don't understand each other's hearts and don't know what's going on in each other's hearts, can we become close friends? It is absolutely impossible for people who do propaganda work to talk nonsense without investigating, researching, or analyzing the target of their propaganda.

The fourth crime of stereotyped Party writing is: the language is tasteless, like a loser. The group of characters that Shanghainese call Xiao Zha San are also very similar to our Party stereotypes. They are very shriveled and ugly. If an article or a speech is turned over and over again, always with the same few nouns, a "student tone", and no lively language, wouldn't it be that the language is tasteless, the appearance is disgusting, and it looks like a loser? It is no wonder that a person enters primary school at the age of seven, enters middle school in his teens, and graduates from university in his twenties. He has no contact with the people, his language is not rich, and he is very simple. But we are a revolutionary party and we work for the masses. If we do not learn the language of the masses, we will not be able to do it well. Nowadays, many of our comrades doing propaganda work do not even learn the language. Their propaganda is very boring; not many people like to read their articles; not many people like to listen to their speeches. Why should we learn a language and learn it with great effort? Because language is not something that can be learned casually, it requires hard work. First, we must learn the language from the people. The people's vocabulary is rich, lively, and reflects real life. Many of us have not learned the language well, so when we write articles or make speeches, we don’t have a few lively, practical and powerful words. We only have a few rigid muscles, like a loser, ugly and thin, and not like a healthy person. Second, we must absorb the elements we need from foreign languages. We are not copying or abusing foreign languages. We are absorbing the good things from foreign languages ??and applying them to us. Because China’s original vocabulary is not enough, a lot of our vocabulary is now absorbed from foreign countries. For example, in the cadre conference held today, the word "cadre" was learned from foreign countries. We also need to absorb more new things from foreign countries, not only their progressive principles but also their fresh vocabulary. Third, we also need to learn the living things in the ancient languages. Because we did not study the language diligently, we did not make full and reasonable use of many of the lively things in the ancient languages. Of course, we are firmly opposed to using dead vocabulary and allusions. This is certain, but good things that are still useful should still be inherited. Nowadays, people who are too poisoned by the stereotyped stereotypes in the Chinese Communist Party are unwilling to work hard to learn useful things from folk, foreign, and ancient languages. Therefore, the masses do not welcome their boring propaganda, and we do not need such lame propaganda. A useless propagandist. What is a propagandist? Not only teachers, journalists, literary and artistic authors are propagandists, but all our cadres are also propagandists. For example, military commanders do not issue declarations to the outside world, but they want to speak to soldiers and contact the people. What is this if not propaganda? As long as a person speaks to others, he is doing propaganda work. As long as he is not mute, he always has something to say. Therefore, our comrades must learn the language.

The fifth charge of stereotyped party members is: A, B, C and D, opening a Chinese medicine shop. Go and take a look at a traditional Chinese medicine store. There are many drawers on the medicine cabinets, and each compartment has the name of the medicine, including Angelica sinensis, Rehmannia glutinosa, rhubarb, Glauber's salt, and so on. This method has also been learned by our comrades. Write articles, make speeches, write books, and write reports. The first is the big one, two, and thirty-four, the second is the minor one, two, three, and four, the third is A, B, C, and D, and the fourth is Zichou Yinmao, and there are major ABCD and minor abcd. , and Arabic numerals, there are so many! Fortunately, the ancients and foreigners created many symbols for us, making it effortless for us to open a Chinese medicine shop. An article is full of these symbols, does not raise questions, does not analyze problems, does not solve problems, does not express anything for or against, and it is still a Chinese medicine shop with no real content. I'm not saying that words like A, B, C, and D cannot be used, but I'm saying that the way to deal with the problem is wrong. Nowadays, many comrades are talking about this method of opening a Chinese medicine shop. It is really the lowest, most naive and vulgar method. This method is a formalist method, which classifies things according to their external signs, not according to their internal connections.

Simply based on the external signs of things, using a large number of concepts that have no internal connection with each other, and arranging them into an article, a speech or a report. In this way, he is playing a game of concepts, and will also lead others to do this. This kind of game makes people not think about problems or the essence of things, but is satisfied with the list of phenomena A, B, C and D. What is a problem? The problem is the contradiction of things. Wherever there are unresolved conflicts, there are problems. If there is a problem, you have to agree with one aspect, and if you are against the other aspect, you have to raise the issue. To raise a question, we must first roughly investigate and study the two basic aspects of the problem, that is, the contradiction. Only then can we understand the nature of the contradiction. This is the process of discovering the problem. Rough investigation and research can uncover problems and raise questions, but they cannot yet solve them. To solve the problem, systematic and thorough investigation and research work must be done. This is the process of analysis. When raising questions, you must also use analysis. Otherwise, you will not be able to know where the problem or contradiction lies when faced with a bunch of vague and messy phenomena. The analysis process mentioned here refers to a systematic and thorough analysis process. Often problems have been raised but cannot be solved because the internal connections of things have not yet been exposed, or because they have not gone through this systematic and thorough analysis process. Therefore, the face of the problem is not yet clear, and comprehensive work cannot be done yet. You can't solve the problem properly. If an article or a speech is important and instructive, it must raise a question, analyze it, and then synthesize it to indicate the nature of the problem and provide a solution. In this way, it is not formalistic. Methods can help. Because this naive, low-level, vulgar and mindless formalist method is very popular in our party, it must be exposed so that everyone can learn to apply Marxist methods to observe, raise and analyze problems. Only by solving problems can we do well what we do and win our revolutionary cause.

The sixth charge of stereotyped party writing is: being irresponsible and harming people everywhere. Those mentioned above are due to naivety on the one hand, and lack of responsibility on the other hand. Take face washing as an example. We wash our faces every day, many of us wash them more than once. After washing, we have to look in the mirror and do some research (laughing) for fear that there is something wrong. You see, how responsible this is! We write articles and give speeches, as long as we are as responsible as washing our faces, that’s pretty much it. If you can't take something out, don't take it out. It should be noted that this is to influence other people’s thoughts and actions! It is certainly not good for a person to occasionally not wash his face for a day or two. There will still be one or two black spots on his face after washing. Although it is unsightly, there is no big danger. Writing articles and giving speeches is different. They are designed to influence people, but our comrades do it casually. This is called inversion of priorities. Many people write articles and make speeches without pre-research or preparation. After writing the article, they do not read it several times, just like looking in the mirror after washing their face, and then publish it carelessly. As a result, he often writes "a thousand words and digresses thousands of miles", making him look like a talented person, but in fact he hurts people everywhere. This bad habit of weak sense of responsibility must be corrected.

The seventh charge is: poisoning the entire party and hindering the revolution. The eighth crime is: Spreading it will cause harm to the country and the people. The meaning of these two items is self-evident and needs no further explanation. This means that if the Party's stereotyped writing is not reformed, and if it is allowed to develop, the consequences will be serious, and it can lead to very bad situations. The party’s stereotyped writing contains the poison of subjectivism and sectarianism. If this poison spreads, it will harm the party and the country.

The above eight points are our proclamation against stereotyped party writing.

The form of party stereotypes is not only inconvenient to express the revolutionary spirit, but also very easy to suffocate the revolutionary spirit. To develop the revolutionary spirit, we must abandon Party stereotypes and adopt a lively, fresh and powerful Marxist-Leninist style of writing. This style of writing has existed for a long time, but it has not yet been enriched and has not yet been widely developed. After we destroy foreign stereotyped writing and stereotyped party writing, the new style of writing can be enriched and widely developed, and the party's revolutionary cause can move forward.

Party stereotypes are not only found in articles and speeches, but also in meetings. "One meeting, two reports, three discussions, four conclusions, and five dissolutions."

If this rigid procedure must be followed in every situation, no matter how big or small, isn't it just stereotyped Party writing? When a "report" is given at the meeting, it is usually "One International, Two Domestic, Three Border Areas, and Four Headquarters." The meeting often runs from morning to evening, and those who have nothing to say have to speak. I feel sorry for people. In short, shouldn't it also be necessary to reform the phenomenon of clinging to rigid old forms and habits without looking at the actual situation?

Many people are now advocating nationalization, science, and popularization, which is good. But "transformation" is called "transformation" from the bottom up; some people have not even practiced "a little", but they are advocating "transformation"! Therefore, I advise these comrades to do "a little" first, and then to "change". Otherwise, they will still be unable to break away from dogmatism and party stereotypes. This is called having high ambitions but low ambitions, and no results. For example, those who talk about popularization but are actually niche should be very careful. If one day someone from the public meets him on the road and says to him: "Sir, please transform yourself and show it to me." The army will be raised. If you are someone who not only advocates lip service but also really wants to popularize it, you must learn from the people on the ground, otherwise you still won't be able to "popularize" it. Some people who call themselves popular every day can't even say three common people's words. This shows that they have never made up their mind to learn from the common people. In fact, their meaning is still niche.

A pamphlet entitled "Propaganda Guide" was distributed at the conference today. It contains four articles. I advise comrades to read it several times.

The first article is taken from "A Brief History of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (Bolsheviks)" and talks about how Lenin did propaganda. It talks about Lenin writing a leaflet: "Under the leadership of Lenin, the Petersburg 'Working Class Liberation Struggle Association' began to combine socialism with the workers' movement for the first time in Russia. When a strike broke out in a certain factory, 'Struggle Because the association was familiar with the situation in each enterprise through the participants in its own group, it immediately responded by issuing leaflets and socialist manifestos. In these leaflets, it exposed the fact that factory owners mistreated workers and explained how workers should respond. They fight for their own interests and state the demands of the working people. These leaflets describe the carbuncle on the capitalist system, the poor life of the workers, the excessive and heavy labor of the workers from twelve to fourteen hours a day, and the lack of rights of the workers. The real situation has been revealed. At the same time, there are quite political demands in these leaflets."

It's "very familiar"! It’s “revealing everything”!

“At the end of 1894, Lenin, with the participation of worker Babushkin, wrote the first such agitating leaflet and a letter to the striking workers of the Semenikov Factory in Petersburg.”

When writing a leaflet, you should discuss it with comrades who are familiar with the situation. Lenin wrote articles and worked based on this kind of investigation and research.

"Each such leaflet greatly improves the spirit of the workers. The workers see that the socialists are helping them and protecting them." ⑼

We are Do you agree with Lenin? If so, we must work according to the spirit of Lenin. It’s not just empty words that mean nothing; it’s not aimless and without looking at the target; it’s not self-righteous and boastful; it’s just doing what Lenin did.

The second article is excerpted from Dimitrov’s report at the Seventh Congress of the Communist International. What did Dimitrov say? He said: "We should learn to speak to the masses without formulas in books but in the language of the soldiers who are fighting for the cause of the masses. Every word and thought of these soldiers reflects the thoughts and ideas of millions of people. Emotions."

"If we don't learn to speak what the masses understand, then the broad masses of the people will not be able to understand our decisions. We are far from being good at using what the masses are familiar with and understand at all times. We have not yet been able to abandon the memorized abstract formulas. In fact, you only have to look at our leaflets, newspapers, resolutions and theses to see that they are often written in this language. , written in such a difficult way that even our party cadres have difficulty understanding it, let alone ordinary workers."

How about it? Doesn’t this explain our problems to the point? Yes, stereotyped party writing exists in China and also in foreign countries. It can be seen that it is a common problem. (Laughter) But we must follow Comrade Dimitrov’s instructions and cure our own problems as soon as possible.

"Each of us should truly understand the following basic rule and regard it as a law, as a Bolshevik law: When you write or speak, always think of making everyone Every ordinary worker understands, believes in your call, and is determined to follow you. They must think about who you are writing and who you are speaking to.”⑾

This is what ***Industrial International tells us. Prescriptions for treating illnesses must be followed. This is the "rule"!

The third article is selected from "The Complete Works of Lu Xun". It is a letter written by Lu Xun in reply to Beidou Magazine ⑿ discussing how to write articles. What did he say? He listed eight rules for writing articles in one go. I will pick out a few to talk about now.

Article 1: "Pay attention to all kinds of things, read more, and write if you don't see anything."

It's about "paying attention to all kinds of things", not the same Half the same thing. It’s about “seeing more”, not just taking a half-eye look. How are we doing? Isn't it just the opposite of him, who only writes after seeing a little bit?

Article 2: “Don’t write hard when you can’t write.”

What about us? Isn’t it obvious that there is nothing in the mind that insists on being shown in close-up? Not investigating or researching, just picking up the pen and "writing" is an irresponsible attitude.

Article 4: "After you finish writing, read it at least twice, and try your best to delete dispensable words, sentences, and paragraphs without any regrets. It is better to shorten the material that can be used as a novel into a sketch, Never turn sketch materials into novels."

Confucius advocated "rethinking"⒀, and Han Yu also said that "action comes from thinking"⒁, which is an ancient thing. The current issues are very complicated, and even thinking about some things three or four times is not enough. Lu Xun said "read it at least twice", but at most? He did not say that I might as well read an important article more than ten times, carefully delete it, and then publish it. An article is a reflection of objective things, and things are complicated and must be studied repeatedly before they can be reflected appropriately; carelessness here means not knowing the basic knowledge of writing an article.

Article 6: "Don't create adjectives that no one understands except yourself."

We have "created" too many things. "No one understands". The syntax is sometimes as long as forty or fifty words per sentence, and is filled with "adjectives and the like that no one understands." Many people who claim to support Lu Xun actually go against Lu Xun!

The last article is about the nationalization of propaganda at the Sixth Plenary Session of the Sixth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. The Sixth Plenary Session of the Sixth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China was held in 1938. We said at that time: "To talk about Marxism without Chinese characteristics is just abstract and empty Marxism." This means that we must oppose empty talk about Marxism; in China Living Communists must study Marxism in connection with China's revolutionary reality.

“Foreign stereotypes must be abolished, empty and abstract tunes must be sung less often, and dogmatism must be put to rest, and replaced by a fresh and lively Chinese style and Chinese style that is loved by the Chinese people. Put the internationalist Separating the content from the national form is the approach of people who do not understand internationalism at all. We must closely integrate the two on this issue, and we should seriously consider some serious mistakes in our ranks. Overcome." ⒂

This is called the abolition of foreign stereotypes, but some comrades are actually still advocating it. This is called empty and abstract singing and singing less, but some comrades insist on singing more. This is where dogmatism is called to rest, but some comrades tell it to get up. In short, many people turned a deaf ear to the report adopted by the Sixth Plenary Session of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, as if they were deliberately opposing it.

The Central Committee has now made a decision to completely abandon the party’s stereotyped writing and dogmatism, so I have talked a lot about it. I hope that comrades will consider and analyze what I have said, and at the same time analyze their own situations. Everyone should think about themselves carefully and discuss what they have thought clearly with their close friends and comrades around them, so as to effectively correct their own problems.
