Q: What are the characteristics of the first China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo?

A: Generally speaking, this World Expo has three characteristics.

First, the development direction is of great significance. The purpose of holding China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo is to meet the new trends, new features and new demands of China-Africa economic and trade development in the new era, to create a new all-round mechanism of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation, a new platform for the implementation of economic and trade measures of China-Africa Cooperation Forum, and a new window for local economic and trade cooperation with Africa. We will pool more resources, mobilize more forces, accelerate the implementation of the "Eight Actions" of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, and inject new strong impetus into the development of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation in the new era.

The second is to focus on economy and trade and pay attention to practical results. In the event design arrangement, we always grasp the word "real", closely follow the implementation of the "Eight Actions", highlight local characteristics, pay attention to pragmatic cooperation, focus on promoting cooperative projects, and carefully arrange key links such as strategic docking, concept exchange, experience sharing, project negotiation and exhibition, so as to effectively build a platform, broaden channels, create conditions and create opportunities for closer cooperation between Chinese and African localities and enterprises.

The third is to pool resources and form a joint force. During the Expo, 14 events and five exhibitions will be held, with rich contents and various forms. All parties attach great importance to and actively participate in it, including central and local government departments, financial institutions, enterprises, chambers of commerce, think tanks, international and regional organizations, etc. This fully reflects the breadth and depth of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation, greatly promotes horizontal and vertical exchanges and cooperation, more effectively realizes resource sharing and complementary advantages, further enriches the ways and connotations of economic and trade cooperation with Africa, and will promote the direction of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation.

Q: What are the innovative highlights of this Expo?

A: In the past, exhibitions were mainly image exhibitions and commodity exhibitions. This time, it is the "5+2" exhibition mode.

The first highlight of innovation is to practice the concept of "giving people fish" and launch "one book and one exhibition" for the first time. A book collects 245 successful cases from all over the country, selects 10 1 cases, and compiles a case plan for China-Africa economic and trade cooperation. This book introduces some successful cases of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation that are "replicable, scalable and sustainable". Among them, 40 books were selected to be exhibited in this exhibition in the form of sound, light and electricity, so that Chinese and African friends can know more about the achievements of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation, the China experience and China wisdom that have been formed, and this book is available in Chinese, English and French versions, which is still of great reference value to African friends.

The second innovation highlight is that the exhibition embodies the "internet plus", creating an online exposition and an African commodity exhibition hall. Through the digital platform of online Expo, the information, projects, policies and mechanisms of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation will be put on the online platform. During the intersessional period, Chinese and African enterprises and local governments can dock from the digital platform. At the same time, an exhibition hall for African commodities was built in Gao Qiao market. I hope that African goods will be exhibited in this exhibition hall for a long time, and more African goods will enter Hunan and China. The exhibition hall and the online Expo constitute an online and offline never-ending China-Africa economic and trade Expo.

The third bright spot, I hope to promote the "three changes":

The first change is to promote the transformation of African economic and trade cooperation from blood transfusion to hematopoiesis.

The second change is the hope that from the past countries and large enterprises to state-owned large enterprises, as well as local governments and small and medium-sized enterprises.

The third change, I hope to focus on hardware construction from the past to the simultaneous construction of software and hardware.

Q: Since the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo settled in Hunan, what exploration has Hunan made in terms of Expo guarantee mechanism and measures for economic and trade cooperation with Africa?

A: The establishment of China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo in Hunan is highly trusted by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council. After receiving this task, under the guidance of the Ministry of Commerce, the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Government studied many times and set up a high-standard preparatory work leading group with the secretary of the provincial party Committee as the director and the governor as the first deputy director. In the history of Hunan, the secretary and the governor served as the first deputy director, especially in economic and trade activities.

During this period, Hunan has also done some research and discussion on the new mechanism, new path and new measures of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation.

On the one hand, take this Expo as an opportunity to promote Hunan's superior production capacity, industries and products into Africa and carry out in-depth technical and economic cooperation with Africa. At the same time, we will further expand the entry of African non-resource products into Hunan and China, and set up an African commodity exhibition hall in Gao Qiao, Hunan, which has been placed for a long time.

In order to further deepen economic and trade cooperation with Africa, a series of safeguard mechanisms and measures have been established, some of which have achieved results and some are still being further promoted. For example, the cooperation between Hunan and Uganda in five major areas is to form some "replicable, scalable and sustainable" development experiences and models through the cooperation of one country or some regions. On June 12, a direct flight will be launched from Changsha, Hunan Province to Africa, further opening up the people and logistics channels between Hunan and Africa.

A database and information base of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation projects will also be established to collect more cooperation information in the fields of investment, trade, industry and tourism. The China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Research Institute will be established by using universities and research institutes in Hunan to conduct in-depth country research and industrial research on African countries, hoping to understand what Africa has, what Hunan and Africa can do and how to do it.

At the same time, Hunan enterprises, including domestic state-owned enterprises and private enterprises, will be mobilized to create a new model of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation through "government guidance, enterprise participation and market operation".
