What is varicose veins?

Varicose veins clinically refer to varicose veins of lower limbs, which are vascular diseases of lower limbs, commonly known as earthworm legs, fried tendons legs or varicose veins of great saphenous vein. Relatively speaking, it is a very common disease in clinic. The clinical manifestation is tortuous dilatation of blood vessels in lower limbs, accompanied by leg pain, soreness and itching. Ultrasonic examination shows that the valve of great saphenous vein or small saphenous vein is not completely closed and blood flows backwards, which is a characteristic of varicose veins in clinic.

The clinical manifestations of varicose veins vary widely. From light to heavy, it is divided into six stages: the first stage is telangiectasia, the second stage is simple varicose veins, the third stage is edema, the fourth stage is skin pigmentation, eczema and skin sclerosis, the fifth stage is ulceration, but it can scab and heal, and the sixth stage is active ulcer, that is, old rotten leg. So it comes down to a simple formula: first-class small spider, second-class small earthworm, three swelling, four black five broken six rotten, from which we can remember different stages.
