Blood drawing requirements

Peripheral blood mainly includes earlobe blood collection and fingertip blood collection, and the baby can collect blood at the heel. The pain of taking blood from the earlobe is less, but the amount of blood taken is less, especially for people with small earlobes. The pain of fingertip blood collection is obvious, but the amount of blood collection is large, especially the routine blood examination, which can get more stable results.

Clean the skin before blood collection. In cold winter, don't take blood immediately after entering the room outdoors, but warm your body, especially your earlobes and hands. Don't burn your fingers with hot water before taking blood from them, and keep them dry. Avoid using this finger if it has a wound, paronychia, redness or skin disease. Fingertip blood collection generally uses the ring finger, because the puncture of the ring finger will not affect the daily life function of the hand. Of course, the middle finger or the index finger can also be used, and there is no special difference. Earrings and other hanging ornaments on the earlobe should be removed when taking blood from the earlobe, and should not be hung immediately after taking blood.

After blood collection, compress the puncture wound with a sterile cotton pad or other sterile hemostatic materials. After the wound is solidified, slowly remove the cotton pad to avoid the wound bleeding again. Don't touch dirt, and don't wash your hands with water immediately.
